I’ve been reading the Discworld novels in a rather non-chronological way, but I could assure you that it will always be an enjoyable read.

This has been an interesting piece mixing the different kinds of magicks (k added to make it pronounce-able) – that is, the witch magic, the words magic, and the stage/theatre magic. Every Discworld story tells us something so indescriptivably amusing and unbelievable – yet, somehow truthful, like, “This sure has happened to me before!!”

So we are introduced to the three witches and the rules of magic – no meddling in politics. But with yet another rule - if you intend to break a rule, break it good and hard.

And we are introduced to the power of word magic – er, I suppose it’s the nice sugary stuff we’re used to hear from politicians?

As well as the stage/theatre magic – Since what is staged is what we expect to see, it will inevitably be turned into the truth.

And thus a story about finding and fighting for the heir of the throne – with an unexpected (but not quite so unexpected if you think about it) result.
