An attempt to get it rolling

I had a really sudden boost last night. For my Chinese dictation, I managed to score everything correct (HA!) I was feeling a bit full of myself and this morning, in all that sudden brightness and pride... I applied to take this course: the JLPT N5 preparatory course. It's all in Chinese, so, practically it's sort of dissuading non-Chinese speaking people from participating. But I did. I even used my Chinese pseudo-name in the "Chinese name" column. I think I can handle the amount of Chinese in this course... I dunno. I also found out that in Macau we do hold JLPT's, but only in the December exam.

I also know that the N5 is something not worth taking. But... I'd really like to get a start from somewhere. If I'm going to sit around waiting or looking for a "suitable course" when it seems none of these language institutions actually provide a level check sort of test when a prospective student enrolls, then I'll never find out which level I should start. So I thought, I'd take the preparatory course (I'm pretty confident I could do the test without this course, but ohwell, I have nothing better to do with my time anyway) and also take the test in December. I just have to find out when the application starts this year.

So... Guess I'm going to hunt for JLPT N5 and old-JLPT4 papers and see how much I know. Gogogo!!!

On courses, I also found this Continuing Education course list from another institution, and everything looks so interesting! I'm particularly interested in the 3D Paper Modeling and the Adobe Illustrator course. I didn't know we had so much side courses around town!
