Well, everyone going outside will have a face mask on (say 99%, there's always someone without a face mask or improperly put on) I don't think people are deathly afraid of anything, just a general "we need to be careful who we have interactions with". There's some panic buyings, especially of disinfectants and bleach. Some restaurants now only do take-out and don't let people dine-in. But people still go out.
Casinos are still closed and of course, tourists are scarce, but I still see some milling about, I think it's just an exaggeration. There are places that obviously look different now with no loitering people but otherwise, life goes on. It's not that bad.
