Friday Five 17-March

1. Have you ever been to Ireland?
Nope. Though I more or less know Ireland already - my previous boss is Irish and I had to do a lot of Ireland related research for him.

2. According to Facts about Ireland, 73% of Americans are unable to locate Ireland on a map bereft of country names. Whether you are American or not, can you find it on a map?
The stereotype of Americans unable to discern a World Map sometimes make me wonder if it really is just a joke or real. I really can't imagine...
Anyway, see above #1, I can easily discern Ireland.

3. Are you or do you know a natural redhead?
Am not and don't know. Or maybe I did, at one point in time. I think her name is Michelle. She's a *I forgot what* and Hong Kong mix. One time she came back to Hong Kong for a holiday and we met up, and we spent the day window shopping in Hong Kong.

4. Will you be celebrating St Patrick's Day?
Didn't. Not really a beer person.

5. Do you even know who St. Patrick is and why we celebrate his day?
I just so happened to have read something about him this morning, so yeah! Though that thing I read didn't say why he is celebrated. Just about his background, (Roman father, blah blah, slave trade, blah blah, called "Patricius" which meant... I forgot. Brave, honorable or something)

Sadly, it's not a joke. Most high schoolers can't identify the states if given a map with the states outlined. Some people think New Mexico is in Mexico and Hawaii is a country onto itself (although there are people who are trying to make this a reality).
