The look and taste of regret, LOL

What's life if you cannot make fun of yourself?

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you now, the look and taste of REGRET... LOL

So I found this new(ish) healthy/organic supermarket place and it featured this brand of milk "RUDE HEALTH". These said-to-be-healthy milks are so expensive... 5 times the price of regular milk here. But I wanted to try them, and one by one I tried.

Soy is always nice. The Oat milk was good, I also liked the Coconut one. The Hazelnut one I really liked, but the Chocolate Hazelnut one wasn't good. As I tried down the series, it eventually came to the weird ones and now I've landed on this Turmeric Latte.

The regret of my life LOL. It's just yuck. And it's slightly spicy! And since I'm the only one who drinks this, I've still got a while to finish it. I hope to finish it by Saturday.

After this one, I think there's only one more weird one to try (I forget what it is though) so once I've tried it, I'm done with "supposed to be healthy" milk, LOL.

Turmeric latte! That sounds interesting. Is it yellow?

Yup, a kind of dark yellow

omg ive been doing this too hahaha i love trying weird and wonderful drinks, especially if theyre supposed to be healthy. I quite like soya chocolate milk, but dang, does it make me gassy as hell hahaha šŸ˜… i tried chocolate oak milk, which tasted like slightly chocolatey soggy cardboard lol and i got myself an expensive 2 bottles of flavoured almond milk. I tried the chocolate one and omg it was beyond vile! it was a very wrong milk chocolate slushie!! 🤮 so thats going to be tipped away :( i have another bottle of the stuff in banana flavour. Do i dare try it?!

Haha you haven’t lived if you have it but haven’t tried it! Lol

omg i know im gonna live to regret this haha

[identity profile] arcadia30.livejournal.com 2020-10-21 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)

ive done it. Fortunately i didnt chug it this time like i did with the chocolate one. Urgh! it was still vile. It was made with raw almond milk, banana puree and APPLE JUICE!! who the hell puts apple juice in a chocolate drink?!??

Fortunately i managed to get rid of the taste by drinking my yummy aloe vera drink.

Haha indeed the almond milk and banana didn’t sound too bad, but with the apple juice, it’s weird!

You're a better person than me. I would've just dumped out what I didn't like.

Haha I would but it costs like 5 times that of regular milk

Turmeric Latte!? I'm intrigued but also afraid because of the way you described it. XD

I’m of the ā€œnever againā€ opinion lol

I’d say avoid it, but everyone has their own tastes, so don’t take my word for it, haha

[identity profile] amw.livejournal.com 2020-10-22 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
I am curious, what is the liquid part of it? Is it soy?

[identity profile] notte0.livejournal.com 2020-10-23 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
The ingredients list:
Spring water (approved non-organic ingredient)
Rice
Sunflower oil
Turmeric (0.5%)
Ginger
Sea salt (approved non-organic ingredient)
Cinnamon
Black pepper

So with water and rice I assume it’s rice milk?

[identity profile] amw.livejournal.com 2020-10-23 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, in that case i wonder if you could not use it for coffee and instead create some kind of curry or dessert out of it? If it's rice milk, maybe you could cook up some sweet congee and add this stuff and some bananas or something? It might work in a pumpkin curry too.

I think turmeric milk is definitely better when fresh and hot! Have you tried heating it up and adding sugar and cinnamon to balance out the spice?

I actually tried hazelnut milk and was not a fan at all. Which is surprising because hazelnut is one of my favorites. So that's my milk regret lol. It's SO expensive for a tiny carton too I was hate drinking it all week HAHA.

This one is already with spices and I’ve finally finished the last mug of it! So I couldn’t try heating it up haha... and I’m not going to commit another bottle of this thing.
Maybe far, far into the future.....

The hazelnut milk from this brand (Rude Health) wasn’t that bad. At first I thought it was too sweet, but then it turned out that because I was putting the milk into a muesli, and the muesli was super sweet so I thought it was the milk that was sweet. When I changed to an oat bran cereal type of thing then the hazelnut milk wasn’t so sweet anymore. I guess it’s just trying the right combination of taste :-)
