Life updates
Ugh... I need to catch up with everyone... I will do that in a bit (planning to go to get a haircut and will be able to read through the F-list then)
We've encountered a slight blunder with the Japan trip. Nothing too bad though. Apparently, the Tokyo Disneyland 40th Anniversary celebrations don't start until April. So we're a month early. We've decided to instead go to DisneySea. I've read different comments about that, from good to bad, LOL. I was just going through the website, and I kind of think it's just like Disneyland, but with a Sea motif. Say, the spinning teacups are still spinning teacups, but it's called something else like whirlpool or something. I think I've got 2 rides/attraction that I hope to able to go to, and the rest, is all leave it up to our schedule, energy levels, and fate, LOL.
Yes, it's an easygoing trip.
oh, and I booked for my ink mixing thing! Ever since I saw that shop in 2018, I had wanted to go on that ink workshop!
And then. The final leg of our musketeer travel group finally reached out about an end-of-October trip. We thought she'd ditched us because of her new BF and whatnot, but it was surprised that she actually reached out. Okay. I was good with the dates she proposed, so I've said yes. Don't know where to yet, but her newest "Facebook bragging my-life-is-wonderful post" was Denmark.
People have been commenting that it's obvious that I've lost some weight. Seems like the one-egg breakfast, less-carb lunches, no-carb dinners, sneaking in more walking whenever I could, and sleeping more is helping.
My doggie planters are complete! The final color that came out seems to be a bit off (darker than before going into the kiln), so the colors didn't come out too nice. But it's okay. Next I'll make the cats, and then maybe I'll re-make the dogs.
For the record, I got the idea to make this boxy-dog-planter from browsing on Pinterest. (Don't want people to come after me saying I've copied designs...)
The teacher had mentioned something was wrong with his brown color, and here in Menina's butt you can see the brown's peeling off. Hm... it's OK, I'll just not use this brown next time. And Max's side sort of got swollen, and the teacher explained someone had mixed in some low-heat clay and high-heat clay, so that happened. I'm still happy with the outcome despite these small errors :-)
Max!
Menina!
Frankie!
And then there were some random things the teacher had us do to learn a few techniques...
Porcelain and slip color
Paper clay and the special blue ink... he had us do a lucky draw to see what country we would get, I got Italy. Since I knew I could never make something straight, I said immediately "Tower of Pisa".... LOL heck, if he wants us to take that home I don't even know where to put it. The pizza was a group effort. There was leftover paper clay and everyone just gave some idea and so, this is what came out. We forgot to glaze it though haha!
