More shopping, cakes, fun stuff!

*ahem* I did say I'll quit shopping stuff *ahem* but LOOK AT THESE! THEY ARE SO PRETTY! I'm trying to look for information on how to care for  young pine sprouted from a pine cone, but all the information stop at "once it starts sprouting, congratulations!" So... after that it's just let it be? The shop guy said it should be kept in a humid environment, so lots of spraying at the leaves, but the online information I found says to keep them dry and water sparingly... huh. As for the succulents, I really was only looking for the Rainbow Elephant Bush (the top right one) because I saw a colleague have a big one and it was so pretty, looked almost like a tree! But I guess it wasn't the right season and I searched over 10 flower shops and couldn't find one, when finally I found a place that sold these saplings, but they were doing a buy 2 get 1 free, so I got the Common Houseleek (top left) and the Sunrise Succulent (bottom one, pinkish), that I did have before but killed it (overwatered it). Now I know. Keep it dry!

So... it's my birthday today, I took the day off so I don't have to deal with people at work. Bless my Boss, I think he remembered because he really didn't even bother me one peep (I told him last year, "Boss, it's easy to remember my birthday. I share the same birthday as your brother. So when it's your brother's birthday, it's my birthday!") The cake on the left was from my friend's pastry shop, she got her sister to make a special mini size of her coconut cake. That monster on the right... my Dad got a last minute cake from the cake shop. He got a kick out of choosing this cake, saying "you'll remember forever that you spent your 39th birthday in a face mask," and well, sorry for my French, but I swiftly replied an "Hey, I'm 38!" He's always adding one year on our actual years. And well, it's a funny cake, but I was happier with the shot of Baileys I got LOL.

My 2 very good friends though, had dinner with me last night at a hot pot place. The food was delicious, the weather was optimal for hot pot (it was cooooolddd last night) and apart from that top left cake, they always try to find something funny to surprise me with. This year, it's this dinosaur balloon. LOL.

What started this dinosaur obsession was this Agnes b. Sport b. Dino. One year, they actually split up and one friend spent the day with me while the other friend went to Hong Kong just to pick up a Dino cake from the Agnes b. Cafe/Bakery in Hong Kong. Well, this time they got me that balloon Dino LOL.

Presents-wise, as expected I mostly got money, but another friend (who I already had lunch with last week) had given me the earliest present. I thought with this friend we weren't going to do anymore presents because we agreed to just donate to animal-related charities on behalf of each other on our birthdays, but she got me this cat pajamas. I had to shoot a photo with Nutmeg to show her. But really, I'm not a "proper pajama" type of person. Old t-shirts and old sweatpants or loose shorts are what I usually wear, but anyway...!

Thank you for all the well-wishes and birthday greetings! It's time for bed, and face another workday tomorrow. Life goes on!
