Today was...
Friday, 10 June 2011 23:26... like one of those "WTF!?" confused days. It wasn't that something bad happened, but all the incidents throughout the day make you go all ∑ヾ( ̄Д ̄;ノ but then after a while you just sort of accept it.
It first started with me being really reluctant to go to the lawyer's office. We had to get a set of translated documents certified/notarized/endorsed/verified that it's the correct translation. According to my Mom, not anyone can officially translate things, you gotta be certified to do the job. I don't. The document was translated mainly using Google translate, my limited knowledge of German, and some common sense.
Anyway, yes, I headed to the lawyer's office and I got the job done. Seeing as I forgot to bring my staff badge, I went home to get it and then I went to work again (5 minutes walk from my place to the lawyer's office, some 15 or so minutes from my workplace. Yes the place I live in is tiny). On my way to work, an old lady asked me if there was a Chinese doctor's clinic in the area. I looked around and saw that yes, some 10 meters ahead was a Chinese doctor's clinic. Seeing as the lady had difficulty walking, I went to her and helped her walk the small distance.
The lady was so happy/touched/whatever that I was almost named a Saint. "You're a Catholic too? You must be one, only Catholics are such nice people, wiling to help. Thank you so much! You are so nice! I live in the St. Lawrence Parish, you also live in this Parish, right? oh thank you so much for your help, good health and God bless you!"
My focus here on the phrase "God bless you". I know it's not exactly something bad (it was a greeting at some point in time too) but I don't, but I keep getting the impression when people say "God bless you" to me, it's like I'm going to die soon. Weird way of thinking? But that's me!
Anyway, so many things happened. Boss was crazy today, I had to write an email to a bookstore in Hong Kong, I spoke with important people on the phone (the Hong Kong Austrian Consulate's right hand man! His accent was so obviously of the German-speaking-people kind, hahaha!), and out of complete boredom took Max out after dinner, effectively walking him 3 times today.
Oh and the typhoon signal #1 got hoisted. Chance of it getting higher is really dim, as typhoon "Sarika" is far far away~~~
I'm feeling tired but grouchy and restless (of the tired kind, I really need to go hit the hay)... I suppose I should go wash up and sleep.
THANK GOD IT'S THE WEEKEND!!
