I had plans to bring the dogs to the vet yesterday for their cartophren shots, and also for Nutmeg for her actual shots (erm, I have no idea what shot that is, only know we must get it for a cat). But then Mom got a call from the home owner's group/association thing that they are sending some guys to fix something on our verandah (because that thing serves as the entire building's drainage system, so it's the group responsibility and not just ours). Mid-way through the afternoon the guys didn't come, so Mom called them again and they said we misunderstood, that they were coming the following day. It was too late to make the appointment at the vet already, and since now they confirm it's the next day, we can't book for the next day either... so it's next week.

Kitty being Kitty. She'd snuggle and rub and be all happy that you are petting her but she will turn around and scratch you if you pet her just a nano-mili-second more than she wants.

Since the sun was already on its way to setting (so it was hardly sunny at all), I decided to work on a couple of my plants.

It's still early-ish afternoon but I can't go anywhere because those guys are here fixing the verandah, so Mom wants us around to help keep an eye on the and keep an eye on the dogs. A little later when the guys are gone (I assume after 4 or 5pm) I might go for a 5km run, but we'll see. It IS almost 4pm now and it doesn't look like they are anywhere near done.

Life over here has been pretty stable. I also know that I am very lucky to still have my job, not required to take any unpaid leave time (only having to clear out my overabundant leave balance, but still allowed to keep a small balance). Our company is also the first (and so far the only) of the 6 concessionaires to still get our "bonus" payment, though they will not call that a "bonus" payment becaus by the word "bonus" it means they will have to give it. Instead they've termed it a "Living Subsidy".

I was getting sick of wearing heels so I brought my pair of white boots out. They look super casual, and I definitely shouldn't be wearing them to work, but since it seems nobody gives a shit if I don't have to meet with people for meetings, then.... I'll go ahead and wear it, no matter how it mismatches my attire LOL

Nutmeg is still a shoulder cat. I think I've mentioned Nutmeg found a Dad in Harley. Well, Dad has to check out the kiddo when she goes out on dates, you know, especially inter-species dates LOL

I've been trying to keep down frivolous expenses (ha bloody ha, what a joke, I've still been buying crap) so while my skincare things have been running low, I haven't replenished much. I've dug out all the freebie samples or travel size stuff that were given out before, and I've started to use them as well. Those 4 bottles of travel size Shu Uemura cleansing oil does fill up a little more than a quarter of the actual bottled product. I've also used up a lot of my serums, day/night creams, essence, etc.. etc... I now only have a single serum oil thing, which if I go by the book, I shouldn't only rely on it. However, my skin has actually cleared out better than before. I'm theorizing that before, I had too many products, and they actually clogged my pores, and thus I had constant breakouts. Now, using only the cleansing oil, an eye cream, and an oil serum thing (that I don't even remember the brand), my skin has cleared out. It could also probably because I'm getting old and my hormones are stabilizing, but whatever. After clearing out all these existing skincare items, I will strictly only use an eye cream, a moisturizer for skincare and that's it. Sunblock, a tiny bit of concealer for under the eyes, and minimal eye make up (just eyeliner and mascara to define the eyes) and that's it.

[livejournal.com profile] kurikuribebi had once posted about this LUSH mask. Since I am the type of person who hardly does my own research, or read magazines or whatnot, simply because seeing someone on my F-list write about it, I went ahead and got it to try. The sales lady tried to dissuade me to buy this though, saying it's very drying and that their newer mask is better. Me being me, insisted. And I LOVE THIS MASK for all the WRONG reasons LOL. This Magnaminty mask... it smells like mint chocolate ice cream! Or those After-8 chocolate thins! Every time I open it, this nice mint chocolate ice cream just fills my nostrils and then I'm happy.... LOL. Though, seriously, if you ask me about masks, one that I like is a Body Shop Himalayan charcoal something something mask... I've used that up so I don't have a photo of it and can't recall the proper name.

Still trying to Yoga daily (or, according to the schedule an app gave me) and of course the dog has to stay in the way hahaha!

I was planning to do the Friday Five but I guess due to the time difference, there's no update yet. So I'll just post something (as I promised myself I'd be posting more regularly now)

I just came back home from a pilates class and a yoga class. It's my first pilates class ever and I think it's quite doable for me - but maybe it's the teacher being lenient. Then, at the Yoga class, the teacher actually asked "Is this your first yoga class?" Ok... seriously, it's not, but since you're asking me this way, meaning I'm really doing badly, so I'll say yes... Then he sort of tried to convince me to go everyday. But sorry sir, my package only allows me to attend 2 days a week, and I don't think I can even achieve that, I'll only be attending the Saturday classes. I'll try to do some stretches during the week, is all I can promise.

I'm just killing some time until I have to leave -  I'm meeting a couple friends for an afternoon tea... so I'm actually starving as I'm skipping lunch in order to do so. Then I have a much anticipated dinner tonight.... a really good hot pot!!!! OMG!

In other news...

It's Saturday late night here and there is no new Friday Five yet. I beat it for once!

I think I found my *favorite* yoga class now. I hope they keep the schedule as it is... Saturday mornings, 10:30am, Tri-Yoga. The teacher is also quite nice. Not crazy demanding, and I think I need to start with this first, then slowly as I build muscle, then I can tackle those pushy indian teachers. This teacher also said that despite my short reach (I can't touch the floor when I bend, and when I squat my heels don't touch the floor), she can see that I am exerting effort and commended on my trying hard. yay.

I also managed to write one more piece for my German assignment... now I still have 2 more exercises, which I will go read through and see what it wants from me, after I log off from LJ.

Many of my hobbies stuff have been put on hold. I've sort of lost my groove, so I need to find my way back, quick too!

Work hasn't been smooth. The boss has been strangely pushy lately. Then rumours have been flying about that I said something to the boss... told him to be careful of his current girlfriend... geez... what I did tell him is I have to be careful of one of my friends who used to work for his girlfriend, and my this friend seems overly curious about what I have to do for him daily (as in, documents, visa, resident status, etc). So I guess the boss has somehow said something to her, and she's mad or something.

What makes this more worrying is, this girl is known to be quite a witch - they say she practices black magic and is quite good at it. I'm sort of worried - i don't really believe in this type of thing, but you never know about curses and hexes.

So our home alone days are coming soon. Mom and Dad are flying out to Europe... I don't know when exactly (hahaha), but some time July... I'm thinking of taking a couple of days off during then too. Time to clean out the shelf without my Mom nagging me about giving books away.

Tomorrow after I upload some videos on Youtube, I'll show you my funny dogs and cats :-D

I'd be lying if I say I've never taken yoga before. I had a couple years back participated in some state- or municipal council-run yoga classes. They were a pain to enroll in (the enrolment office opens at 8am and if you go there at 7.30am there is already a long queue made up of housewives or retirees or unemployed people queueing since, possibly the night before) and after I managed to enroll in 2 different courses, I never managed again.

Anyway, so I enrolled for a free trial course, and I went to it in the afternoon. When I enrolled, I asked to join a beginner course. The girl guaranteed a beginner course and slotted me into the time slot. Asthanga Yoga, or Sun Yoga, I understand.

It was the most gruelling of yoga class I've ever been to. I never knew I could sweat from my stomach and my butt. It was brutal, and I couldn't do some poses where I have to bend half-way on my right knee - My right knee just can't handle. Then there were some other crazy poses where the legs have to twist over the arms and whatever else. I can't do those. But I must not let it be left unsaid: I felt good after that.

After the class, the girl asked me how it was. I said, "Are you sure that is a beginner's class?" and she said, "No, Asthanga Yoga is a tough one." gawds. So I said I requested for a beginner's class, the girl there talked smoothly and assured me that it's OK, I could choose other more simple classes according to my schedule. The part time girl that scheduled me in might not have known Asthanga Yoga is a more advanced type of Yoga. I think the girl that assigned me to the class is called Kitty. I believe she is one of the instructors there, but, ohwell. I'll keep quiet for now.

I'm now signed up for 18 months, on the 2 class-days per week package. What it means is, in a week (starting Mondays), I can join any classes for 2 days. If the Tuesday has 10 classes, and I have the physical capacity, I could, technically, participate in all 10 classes on Tuesday, and participate in another 2 classes on Friday (classes on 2 days a week). The rest of the week, I could use the gym facilities.

The other plans are the 4-class-days a week, and unlimited (i.e., 7-class-days). I could probably work 4 class days, but I didn't want to be over-confident in my procrastinatic nature. Checking the schedule shows that, according to my beginner-status and my work schedule, the 2-class-days one works best.

For the coming week, since the boss is back, I don't want to be over-zealous, so I've already picked a Saturday morning and Sunday morning Hatha Yoga (B) (<-- beginner!!!!) class. When my boss is not in town I may consider the Body-Combat (I think is like a kick-boxing-dance type of thing) on Wednesdays.

Ah, that and unlimited use of the steam/sauna and shower facilities. Since when do I use the steam room anyway? I'll see. Maybe in winter, haha
