That's some news
Saturday, 2 March 2024 11:34Argh, again, where di dthe time go...
Well, I just found out some weird news about myself yesterday.
According to the Macau Government Records, I have no Nationality. Oops. Who am I?
What happened is, my Sis tried to go get her China visa, but again, with the issue of dual nationality and her having used both passports before, now trying to switch again, the visa office asked her to go to the Macau ID department to print a document that clearly states the nationality. I thought since she's doing it, I might as well do it too.
Hers clearly states she is Portuguese. Mine says "Not Verified." I was offered to go to the desk to verify it, but then again, the Macau legal code doesn't expressly require me to have a nationality.
So.
I don't have a nationality yet, in the eyes of my home government.
I did a bit of research and found out that, those born before November 1981 with obvious Portuguese parentage would automatically be listed as Portuguese. And those born after 20 December 1999 will be automatically listed as Chinese, so that leaves the children born in-between to have "Not Verified" statues, and apparently I'm one of them.
I'd like to seek comment or insight from someone with some legal background or knowledge before I do anything. In my naive mind, I'm thinking, since I hold my 2 nationalities already regardless, I can now verify as Chinese, then I can get those China travel cards and etc easily without signing the "I renounce my nationality", because, I won't need to sign any document to renounce anything. But I'll see. I have some time to think about it.
Anyway, I saw
meathiel did this nifty one second a day video thing so I tried it out. January I had to cheat a bit because I wasn't diligent (and I just started) so didn't have material every single day, there were quite a bit of back-fills.

I think I did a little better with February, though it's not everyday a one-second video, but the photos are all from the correct days.

It was fun doing this but I'm not sure how long I can last keeping this up haha.
