The questions are actually from the 19-April Friday Five though!

1. Did you enjoy your senior year of high school?
Hm... the school system I went through was just High School (Form 1 to Form 5). I assume Senior High School would be Form 4 to Form 6 (yes, I actually saved a year!). But senior year in high school... Form 3 maybe? I had a big fallout with a best buddy that year that caused a whole group of friends to turn against me. Well, actually she was walking all over me, taking me for granted (she had me babysit her younger sister on our walks home) and I got a little miffed about it. Anyway, onwards in University we sort of got back together.

Or if it meant Form 5, then it wasn’t too bad. Graduating year is always tough as I had to study for the school exams and take the GCSE as well.

2. Did you have a senior trip (high school) and were you able to go on it.
Yes, we were the graduating class of 1999-2000, and our graduation trips are usually done over Christmas break, the terrible terrible time of the Y2K, and the nuns forbade us to go somewhere that we had to go by plane (coz the plane might explode if we cross 31-Dec-1999 23:59 to 1-Jan-2000 00:00. So scary! So we only went to some part of China by bus.

Do you feel the sarcasm?

3. Was graduating (from either high school or college/university) a big thing with your family or just another day?
Mom gave me a graduation ring when I got my bachelors degree. I guess it is a big thing? One year I got selected to be the MC for the graduation ceremony (I wasn’t graduating) and I begged my mom to come see me coz hey, the nuns thought I’m good enough to stand on stage and MC the whole thing. But my mom just said “it’s not your graduation ceremony, why should I go?”

Meh.

4. What were you looking forward to the most after graduating from either high school or college/university?
I wanted to study graphic arts like my Sis, but she did such a bad job at it (her professors actually told her she has no talent and told her not to pursue the bachelor year when she barely passed her higher diploma), and mom had made a fuss about expensive art supplies, so I chose to go for Tourism business management where I didn’t have to do a pre-university year (because I did not do Form 6). I had wanted to study in the UK but my Sis decided to “run away” to Austria (not really, Dad went with her) so I couldn’t really leave Mom alone, right? So I chose this tourism thing locally.

This is the reason why I’m always at odds with my Sis because I really hate her guts because of all that. She was the loser yet gets all her wishes granted and paid for, whereas I have to work and get my own wishes happen.

5. Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your graduating self?
Next time, don’t give a shit about anything and do just what you want.

But doesn’t matter, coz I’ve eventually learnt that and now give 0 fucks about anything. Life is good.
