Of course I don't know what I want to do with myself. I wanted to make a big post tonight, but I guess I'll just split and write another post tonight with what I'm about to do today... forgive my constant presence... LOL

With the change in weather, (AUTUMN!) I can finally use this small earthy tone bag I got 2 years ago. It's small (I'm a big bag sort of person, with a lot of crap that I don't even use) and I've had to significantly downsize my worldly possessions LOL. I might do a What's In My Bag for this bag later, but for now... since this bag can't accommodate the iPad, I've had to hold it by hand. I somewhat look like those insurance agents over here who are standing around hunting for clients with their portfolio in the iPad and whatnot. I also need a haircut. Might go do that next week.

But not in that sequence, I suppose! May I first sing praise to my manicure lady. She saved my finger! But my nails are now short and my fingers look so kiddy again! I went with a dark green that had a little shine. But with my short nails... it's so easy to type again! I can hold a pen again! I'll probably play a bit on the piano as well!

Lunch was a bit of a let down because apparently they didn't keep a lot of their cartoon dim sums. There was only that Dino dumpling thing and a Curry Crab tart. They've gotten rid of their goldfish-shaped shrimp dumplings and a porcupine-shaped sweet bun. It was sad.

Oh, I also did make an effort to go walk over to an area we call "Red Market" 紅街市... I couldn't find the shop or stall I was looking for. So I tried to do a search on Facebook to see if there's something like that, and apparently there is, and I had to walk all the way back to the area where my manicure place is. And when I stepped into the shop, it was themed to tell the history of this candy. And what do you have, a wall with a painting of the Red Market.

I'm also going to do a photo dump of the Lou Lim Ieoc Garden. Tiny bit of history:

It was built in 1906 by a... erm... guy called Lou Kau, I think it was his home or something. The garden itself is said to be special as it follows some kind of style Suzhou Gardens. It's now a public park. The actual area of the park is pretty small, but it feels big because of the design (that Suzhou Garden styles I mentioned)... with use of landscaping and rocks and whatnot, it's like a maze inside and feels a lot larger than it really is. For those who feel like reading up a little more, here is an interesting article. Now I wonder how haunted it is, LOL!

It shows that it's Friday and I have nothing to do... multiple posts in a day LOL

These questions are from [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive

1) What kinds of gifts will you give this holiday season?
Still haven't started the hunt, but I think I'll go easy this year and just get chocolate for everyone with a Lai-See (envelope with money). Or I'll change my mind later and actually put some effort in the gift hunting. Getting 23 gifts every year is very tiring.

2) What are the best types of presents to give?
Things that you know the other will like! But also have to think of practicality. The Lai-See idea is starting to warm up to me.

3) Have you ever given someone a gift as a surprise? Why did you give the gift?
Yeah, a few times I saw something that made me think of a friend or their kid, and it was within the "acceptable budget range for a gift for a friend", so I got the thing. They were happy. Just because the item made me think of that person. No special reason.

4) Have you ever received a gift that you didn’t like? How did you respond?
I was brought up with "don't complain" instilled in me. And "Don't look at the teeth of a gifted horse" (or something along those lines). Say thank you and smile.

5) Would you rather give someone a gift or receive a gift? Why?
I'd rather give a gift than receive. If I receive something, then I have to put up an act if I don't like it (see #4 above) and then feel obligated to reciprocate. The best though, is if I don't receive a gift and I don't have to give a gift. I'll be happier having lunch or tea or dinner with a friend than get all awkward LOL

And next we have the questions from F.riday5.com!

1. What movie makes you happy?
I'm really not so much a movie buff... There are movies that moved me. But a movie that specifically makes me happy means it's a pick me up that I keep watching and watching... and I don't really watch that much movies. I dunno.

2. What song makes you happy?
It was a tie between the  Nintama Rantaro 忍たま乱太郎 opening theme song 100%勇気 by 光GENJI or the POCARI Sweat CM clip 突然 by Field of View. In the end I chose 突然 because I actually listen to that more!

3. What food makes you happy?
I love carbs and heavy food. They make me happy. But I can't have too much of them. CONTROL!

4. Who makes you happy with just a text message?
Honestly any of my good friends can send me a text message and I'm happy.

5. What beverage is most likely to lift your spirits?
This one is funny. When I'm on land, it's either a matcha latte or apple juice that is my pick me up. But if I'm up in the air on a plane, tomato juice. Let it be on record that I hate tomato juice when I'm on land. But in a plane, I love it.
