Grand Prix and all the excitement (?)
Friday, 18 November 2022 16:37It doesn't feel like the Grand Prix days. Even though yesterday and today were the practice days only.... but in the past, even on the practice days we would hear a lot of vroom vroom fwooosh from the cars. But. Nothing!
Even when we were dog walking in the past years, when it's the grand prix times, we could hear the vroom vroom from across the lake!
So, these 2 days... don't feel like Grand Prix. There's the traffic congestion because of all the road blocks, but there's no vroom vroom.
So my company's F&B is doing some promotion selling heavily discounted cash vouchers (25% off), and upon hearing that it's got quite a bit of validity, up to end of June 2023, I decided to go get a stack. I was thinking about my birthday family party in January. I thought I would use those vouchers for the lunch. But I didn't ask enough questions and only when I read the T&C that I found out it's only applicable at the fine dining restaurants... so I dunno. I'll ask my cousin (we usually do a joint birthday lunch) and see if he is willing to do a dim sum lunch instead of a buffet. We have enough people to buyout a private room and I can ask the manager to write a menu for us, leaving some space for the dim sum trolley food, if they want to.
Yes it's just November but I like to plan ahead.
Did I mention I've completed my Christmas Shopping already? I found a store that would custom make face masks, so I'm making face masks with all our animals LOL. Last year it was cushions for the kids. This year it's face masks for everyone. Since face masks in public areas is still required here, so, everyone can get that, and it's gonna be useful, not something that you just put at home and collect dust. It's going to take a bit of work too as I'm going to mix it up and make each box of 50 pieces an assortment of different designs.
So, the boss is off gallivating somewhere and this time he didn't ask me to make his travel arrangements. I was feeling peculiar already. I kept asking him: would you need this? would you need that? and he said he really only needs the visa... so I did the visa for him. As he has a credit card that has travel insurance included, I usually do not buy extra travel insurance for him.
Of course at the very last minute he asks me to check requirements to go to certain countries, and so I find out they need a very specific insurance... and I had to scramble and buy a last-minute insurance *rolls eyes*. Then he says his friend was supposed to help him book a room at another destination but apparently forgot to do that.... so I had to scramble and get him a room there too.
The most amusing part it, I figured since they'd forgotten about that last leg of the trip, I went ahead and checked out what is needed there, and got all his documents prepared for that. So when he asked "hey I need to use this app to get this information" and what not, I had already prepared everything and just sent it to him with "Done". *Victory dance*
Geez boss. Please let me do all your travel stuff next time. This way I'd make sure you have everything you need and not have to scramble for stuff last-minute.
