Guess I spoke too soon
Sunday, 20 November 2022 19:15Ah, guess I spoke too soon yesterday.
So some tourist tested positive and three huge areas are under "critical observation" and residents in those areas and the people who visited those areas at the same time as the tourist are to do a 5-day 4-covid test program.
I'm not posting the maps, but my building, just sits... outside of that delineated box, LOL. Practically, half of my housing complex is in the critical observation zone, whereas my exact building is out of it. Lucky us, I suppose?
The Grand Prix has concluded. I see some comments on Facebook saying "the slowest Grand Prix in history" and my Dad says it's all "Sunday Drivers" (people who drive needlessly slowly). Well. I was never a fan of the Grand Prix, so it doesn't affect me nor my entertainment at all.
I went for a special lunch today and took the family there. I thought the menu was interesting so shared it to my group of friends. One of them loves to take food shots and likes to go out and eat good stuff. But now she's on a new quest of diet and all that. Which is fine, but to the point of practically just going against her own character? She loves oysters. She was the one who wanted us to go to a particular French restaurant to have the seafood platter and the oyster tower. I was just sharing (from another place) a menu with a long list of oysters and she suddenly says "but I don't like oysters anyway" and my other friend and I (group chat of 3 people) were like "yeah.... right....??? (who is she kidding?)"
And so today I was just commenting this special lunch is really good value and she went all "let me spend this week to lose this 1kg then I can go eat again." I was annoyed and said "I wasn't really asking you out. I was just sharing information of a good meal I'm currently eating."
Like, yeah, just because you are on a diet doesn't mean we have to control our eating habits to yours. I will still invite you for special meals out. If you decide you need to skip it, fine, skip it, but don't make us skip it and wait for you. I won't do that because what did she do once to me? Once she said she wanted to try one particular restaurant. I said fine, let's do it on Sunday. Then there was no news. On Sunday near dinner time I asked "so are we going or not?" And she replied, "oh I went yesterday, it's not good, not worth to go." And I was like, "so... today???? I didn't arrange dinner because I thought I was going to have dinner with you....???" And she was like "ah no no, I've eaten out too many times last week I need to eat home today." WTF. I've long forgiven her (I'm the forgiving type) but don't think I've forgotten it (no, I'm not looking for revenge. I just make sure I don't get burnt a second time)
So no. I will not fit my dinners to your schedule, dear.
