Low-key home celebration as everyone's not fully recuperated.
I also went to shop for my skincare products last week because I knew I would get some freebies on my birthday month. And apart from the double membership points, they gave me a voucher for 2 slices of cakes!
I figured, with just 4 people at home, we wouldn't be able to eat an entire cake anyway, so I told the parents that they can pick free cake, and they did. They made it a date too! They went to the cafe opposite the cake place, had lunch, then picked up the cakes.
Nothing big. I usually take the day off, but I had stuff to do, so I just went back to work. One of the big shots gave me a big lai see (hongbao), and since today someone is leaving and having their going away lunch, this same guy said "we can celebrate Kat's birthday". Er... okay? Sorry to steal the going away guy's thunder?
