It's a stormin' out there
Friday, 15 September 2023 22:59Wow, the typhoon two weeks ago wasn't so bad on Macau side, then the other day the rain and flood devastated Hong Kong and surprisingly nothing happened in Macau. I'm not exactly sure if it was because Macau has improved its infrastructures (nah, not counting on that) but I did hear that the flooding in Hong Kong had something to do with Shenzhen/China releasing the floodgates or something and thus causing the water surge in Hong Kong. It was bad indeed.
There was still a bit of flooding in Macau, not too bad, and I was reading the local newspaper's Facebook page and I saw a very familiar car. They covered the license plate, but the car was the same make and model as mine, so I asked my Dad, "did you drive the car to go look at the street situation this morning?" he said yeah. So yeah.
And then after a couple days of okay-ish weather, today it's pouring and storming. Wow. The lightning just now, it was like an outdoor disco.
Frankie finally went to his first acupuncture session last week, and the vet and assistants say he was a very good boy. Then I saw, of course, he can't move, LOL. But he looks so chill with those needles in him. They don't allow owners to go into the treatment room as dogs, like kids, would throw fits in front of parents/owners. So okay. They said they'd send me photos and videos, which they did.
Tomorrow I'm going to China by car for the first time. I'm not driving, my friend is driving. It'll be a first. They've now implemented this thing where if you have a Macau ID and a Macau driving license, then you can get a China driving license without a test or exam. I'm thinking of doing that, but if I do that it's not going to be of much use, because I still don't have a car to drive to China, which I'm not eligible for, because in order to have a Macau car be able to drive to China, I need the colloquially known "Return Home Card" which is like an ID document for Chinese people of Macau and Hong Kong for going to China. I'm oversimplifying the whole deal, but that's about that.
Last week's China manicure. Love the colors this time.
And FINALLY! I'm trying the pumpkin spice latte. Hm.... Nothing special. I wouldn't specifically ask for it again.
