I remember once, when i was really young (only manual gear cars), I overheard a conversation between my Mom and her mechanic. "I'll lend you this battery while I charge your battery, don't worry, you will get it back by the end of the week!" - so I always thought that car batteries are rechargeable.

Then my mom bought an automatic gear car and one time her battery died, so I asked her if we just had to take it to the mechanic to recharge it, and she said "the new batteries can't be recharged anymore".

So I'm not sure, I know there's this way to jump start the car, and supposedly as you drive the car the battery gets recharged, but it's been a long time since I've heard of actually recharging a battery.

That said, the guy said my battery strength was like at 2% so it didn't matter and I had to buy a new one anyway. So I dunno....
