About wearing face masks

elusivekI just wanted to put in my 2 cents about face masks now.
You know how Facebook sometimes just puts a video out for you (based on whatever algorhythm). So I saw a video about some show in the US, Good Morning America or something like that. The hosts were talking about "I'm not sick, so I don't have to put on a mask" and also differentiating the use of surgical masks and the N95.
My two cents is, you are not wearing the mask to protect yourself.
The virus has an incubation period of 14 days (it was at first said), and later on they say it's more likely over 20 days. You also don't know that you are carrying the virus. You can carry the virus and not have any sick symptoms. Wearing a mask is to protect the people around you, so that you are not unknowingly spreading the virus, in case you are carrying.
While I'm pretty confident that I'm not sick nor carrying (though I don't know for sure), so sometimes I cheat and I continue using the same mask on the second day. I know it sounds gross, but if you want to be super technical and anal about it, you really shouldn't wear a mask for over 30 minutes. Yet the current advise is to use one mask a day.
