Weekend fun

I had planned to go back to work today (Saturday) because I took the afternoon off yesterday and went for an afternoon tea with a friend, and then a bike ride. She was feeling a bit down, and she likes biking as that was how she travelled around in Japan when she studied there.
We went to fake-London (we have fake-many things here. Venetian being the fake Venetia with river ways indoor, Parisian the fake Paris complete with a fake Eiffel Tower, and now the new Londoner the fake London!). They are doing an Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea thingamajig and we went. Fun for photo ops but the food wasn't particularly spectacular. There were 2 Mad Hatters working together and the Rabbit too!
We actually went to the same place last week but couldn't get the Alice tea set because it was booked full, so while we were in another area of the restaurant, the King walked in and greeted us "I am the King" (me: rolls eyes). BUT! you say, there is no King in Alice in Wonderland! Well, that's because we weren't in the Alice side of the restaurant LOL LOL LOL.
After tea we went for a short bike ride. Back and forth and then half away again, I think we did 13km. I need to practice more! The weather and the time (6-ish pm) was excellent for this activity!
She rides so well she can easily spare one hand to take nice photos complete with waiting for timing and composition. Since I'm a shitty biker I really couldn't do anything except shoot and hope for the best.
Facebook prompted an old post (the "memories" thing on Facebook, things you posted on this day in the past), and here I'll be showing off. Best student in graduating class mwahahaha!
Oh, I also once saw a shelf nook thing on Kickstarter and it was expensive like something else. It was basically a bookend with a scene, and because there is a mirror placed tilted, it gives off an never-ending illusion of that nook and it's a complete scene of a street or an alley. I found a similar thing on Taobao but you have to assemble it yourself, and I assembled this one for my friend's birthday (same as the one I went biking with). Her birthday is coming up and I'd like to give her a bit of Japan. Look at this beauty!
The funny thing, it's supposed to be an old street Japan, but there is an air conditioning unit and some rather modern mangas LOL the details made me laugh!
Managed to put it together in less than 5 hours.I was worried the lamp mechanism would be tough, but I managed, it wasn't that bad.
Disregarding the error in time period, there are a lot of details in this thing. Aside from this being Japan (and she's like, loves Japan to the point and says it's her "homeland") (it's really not), I also got this because of the Shiba dog in the front. She has a Shiba dog and I thought it fitting.
