Sucks to be me these days

It seems that by sheer WILLPOWER I was able to push this cough through my driving exam, and once my driving exam was done and over with, the cough is back with a vengeance.
The thing I found funny is, I did not have the flu, nor a cold, nor a fever. Usually I get sick with one of those then then the cough comes. This time the cough has bypassed everything. After spending a good portion of last night trying to calm my breathing and stop the cough in order to sleep, I woke up determined to see a doctor, no matter how much I hate them.
I went to the doctor that managed to cure me of my cough back in February. Again, he diagnosed me with 上呼吸道過敏, which roughly means "upper respiratory allergy" or something along those lines. Apparently the self-medication I was on was totally off the target, as the medication I took was for cold symptoms whereas my cough has nothing to do with being sick, so to speak.
So now, I am again with that awfully yucking syrup (guh) and a number of pills (I don't mind pills), and with instructions not to take certain Chinese medicinal food items, grapes and dragon fruits and then to drink lots and lots of water, avoid temperature changes (going in and out of air-conditioned rooms) and avoid iced drinks.
