Wow, I guess this is how the real races do it? The bib number is used as something like an ID or something and AI can help sort out all the photos that got that bib number on. So it was easy to sort and find my own photos. And, it cost 220 TWD each photo, but if I just bought the whole filtered list (some 30 photos) then it's 990 TWD. Might as well buy the whole lot I suppose, so I did that.

Wow, it looks so cool when I crossed the finish line LOL.

Near the end of the run, there were a lot of photographers, and I did try to do a pose for them here and there, but there was a gal that kept running in front of my and making big poses and kissy faces at each and every cameraman that they then turned their lenses to her. None of the photos I found of me had that gal, so I couldn't show you.

Many of these street photos just show that I'm like... almost dying LOL LOL LOL

Meh, they shouldn't have had included the medal (and the 42km medal) shots in the package, but they really did that.

Haven't really worked through the actual trip photos (not that there was much of a trip this time) but yeah, I will eventually get to that!

I did it! Slower than my previous half marathon, but still managed to complete in under 3 hours, as I hoped I would.

"It's my birthday and I'll run if i want to" LOL suddenly thought of this song (but it's crying, not running).
I actually completed a half marathon! With time to spare! The run was around the Hong Kong Disneyland area. It wasn't the Disney Run though.
Untitled

Stayed the night in the Disneyland Hotel and got a gift from Mickey Mouse LOL. It's cute, but stupid me forgot to bring a towel with me for my run, so I kept the card and took the towel apart.

Woke up at 4am and got ready to be at the starting point around 5.30am. The run started around 5.45am.

Got to see the sunrise. All was going well-ish in the beginning, good pacing, good breathing.

There wasn't a lot of recharge stations though. My friend told me in other marathons/half marathons there are food stations. I would have appreciated if not food, some Gatorade/pocari sweat drinks though. On the official event information sheet, they said the half marathon time limit was 2H45M, so by the last stretch of the run I was like.... need to cross the finish line......!!!!!! And yes, I did it with some time to spare!

My friend was further behind and she finished almost at 3hours but still got her medal.

I didn't wait for her and headed back to the hotel first for a shower and cleanup. Then she arrived and I was thinking we would hang out. But then she decided she'd take a nap until checkout time. It was just before 11am so I figured if it's early enough I might as well go back home to Macau, since I have no plans for Hong Kong.

Actually managed to get back in time for the family lunch.

The title sounds ominous, but no. I didn't get covid yet. Dad's fully recovered. Sis' test finally came negative today. Mom's coughing like hacking her lungs out. In fact, I think I started the year relatively well. I completed a running challenge!

I... still tested negative, but I was worried for a moment because I woke up to a terribly sore throat, which usually is a sign of my getting sick. The funny thing is, I have no cough. It's just a sore throat. It feels like an inflammation more than anything, and just in my throat a tad to the left side, where I've forever been wondering whether I've got a fish bone stuck in there... ever since my 2002 internship in Lisbon, on a trip to Fatima we had a Bacalhau a Bras for lunch and it's kind of cemented in my mind that I swallowed a fish bone there and my throat there is permanently wounded. I do not know for a fact if it's true. I haven't seen a doctor for that.

Anyway, I finished a 20.23km run.... split in to 3 of course. I can't run over 10km yet... one day... maybe...! There was this challenge thing to run a total of 20.23km between 28-Dec up to 3-Jan, capped at 3 runs, so I had plans to run 8km each. However, today I wasn't feeling too good, so I just gave up at 6km or so.

28-December >>> good breathing, was able to run all through with only 1 break. Planned for this run, had carbs for lunch so I felt good during the entire run.

Untitled

30-December >>> It was a last minute ad hoc run as I was planning to run the following day (31-December, and then 2-January) instead... but then Mom got sick, so I was thinking I might get sick soon so I decided to run on this day and move the last run to 1-January. Good breathing but as I didn't prepare well, I needed a couple breaks.

Untitled

1-January >>> When I felt my sore throat this morning that I woke up, I was worried I would test positive for covid, so I immediately did a test, but it was still negative. I do have some sniffles today, and the reason I cut the run short was just because I was getting too much snot and phelgm that I needed to clear and couldn't do so if I kept running.

Untitled

The route for the 3 days are practically the same, around this Sai Van Lake. I don't really like running here as other people go to this area for a smoke, and this route is not a designated running route, there are cars so the smoke from them also sucks. There's a designated running and biking route out in the island of Taipa, but I'd have to drive over there. This lakeside (man-made) area is just less than 10 minutes away from my place on foot. One lap around the lake is roughly 2.5km.

Untitled

So... the few people that I know that got covid, they had a loss of appetite and were hacking their lungs out. I feel like I'm getting sick but my symptoms are just my sore throat and an insatiable hunger, LOL. Yeah, when I get sick I feel constant hunger. I guess that's my body saying I need the calories to fight the sickness. And that's why I think despite starting to get sick it's still not covid, but maybe the flu.

But hey, the Chinese Health Bureau announced that "Covid is just a type of flu" (what a 180º change of idea) and that there is nothing to fear. Yeah right thanks.
