This was another very joyful read for me. Anne, a little older, goes back to Avonlea to teach and makes quite a few new friends. I particularly loved Ginger the foul-mouthed parrot.

Again, Anne never ceases to amaze me with her absent-mindedness... this time, following up with her dyeing her hair green, she goes and dyes her nose maroon. She sells off the neighbor's cow, gets in a pinch when she is hunting for an antique pot and a practical joke in prophesizing the weather does come true...

But then we do see her dreams and fantasies are now more refined and she is less wild than she was as a child.

And with the way it ended, we are teased into very much looking forward to the next chapter of her life. And that's what I plan to read next.
