Feeling rotten right now
Thursday, 22 September 2011 14:40It's... so easy to make me feel rotten...
I was on my merry way to lunch just now, going across 2 streets to have lunch with my mom and my aunt.
As I reach the pedestrian, I see a huge white mutt-dog. I see it with a collar-chain on, so I asked "oh where's your boss?" and the dog approaches me and sniffs at me.
I panicked at that point. Hell, I'm a born dog-attractor. Stray dogs come to me, and usually they get incorporated into the family (Woofy, Menina, Sai Lup.....)
So I said a soft "shoo - shoo!" and the dog backed away a bit.
I walked into the hotel (I entered via the side door) and I turned around, the dog was sitting at the door.
That was a very uncomfortable lunch, with that bugging my conscience, you know. I would be devasted and wouldn't know what to do had the dog really waited for me, but at the same time, it would have been romantic and touching in the "Hachiko story" sort of way...
when I left, I went through the same door again, but the dog was gone.
I'm now feeling rotten. What if the dog is being maltreated by some stupid inconsiderate passers-by? What if he got hit? What if some stupid kid thinks it's funny to torture the dog? (I believe that's what happened to Menina with that little corner of her ear missing)
I hate my own conscience.......................................................!!!
