[Error: unknown template qotd]As a child, I dunno. I don't remember ever being sick as a child. Maybe I was a healthy child?

I do remember Mom being all eager to try weird remedies... like.... cooking honey and garlic and lemon juice in water, or steaming an orange with a lot of salt, and the like.... in recent years... maybe my Mom was trying to catch up on the past of not really treating us when we were sick?? I really dunno.

I just hate being sick....

The one constant when sickness ensues is just something that isn't really remedial... is congee (or porridge I guess?). It's like a staple when someone, anyone, gets sick. So much so that, nowadays if I do get sick, but am still well enough to go to work, I also order for congee for lunch.

Our obligatory Sunday Dogwalk out in the islands. (Our dogs get walked every day, twice a day, come rain or shine or typhoons and all. But that's still at a patch of grass in the city. Sundays we get out of the peninsula to the islands and walk in nature!)

I'm on the way to being sick, but not quite there yet... I have a prickly throat and a nose that's running on one side but blocked at the same side at the same time.

And through the other side of the nose that I can actually breathe, is that familiar scent of sickness. So, I dunno. I've been loading myself up with the vitamin C drink (the thing you put in water then it spizzles and whatever) and taking cold and flu medication. I don't really know if it's working. It's probably keeping me on the fine line of sick and not sick, so I still feel like shit. Maybe I should just quit it with the medication, let myself get properly sick and then I can revive all the better again, instead of like now, just keeping the sickness at bay.

Whatever.

It's also the Grand Prix Weekend. Joy. Notice my sarcasm. I hate that. Granted, it brings in money and jobs and tourists and all, but... what's so interesting looking at cars racing and making 18 laps of the same circuit?

I've heard people comment on a particularly boring race as "there were no accidents", and I did a double take. So people go watch the Grand Prix for the accidents? There were a few races where accidents were so bad that people died. I really don't understand those people.

Some 20 years ago, I remember, during Grand Prix time (November) we would change to our winter school uniforms and even needed a navy blue sweater to keep us warm. *looks out the window*. It's still so summer-like now. If I had the same get up, I'd surely melt.

So I'm cooped up in my room, air con on to make it pleasant. Did a bit of housekeeping. My room is not spiffy clean yet, but at least it's a little more presentable than it was before I cleaned up, and my desk has some writing and working space again. I'm working on getting a few of the Nanoblock puzzles completed so that I could build up a montage. It's a work in progress.

There's something going on with Flickr and Instagram. My Instagram posts don't post to Flickr. I wonder if it's an Instagram problem, a Flickr problem, or an iOS problem. An initial Google search results in finding out a lot of people are in the same predicament. hm..... But I'm too lazy to dig deeper, so all I'm going to do is maybe write to the support of both services and let them sort that out.

And I'm going to make the Nanoblock piano!
