1. Do you play games with your animals, aside from the usual?
The usual - string with a ball with the cat, and chasing around with the dogs, guess which hand has the kibble (I can't believe my dogs can get that wrong), etc...

2. Do you talk to your pets?
Everyone at home talks to the pets constantly, as if they understand and reply.

3. Do your pets talk to you?
This is the funny part that I say yes. Menina grumbles and uses her tail to hit something as she wags, in a constant rhythm, to let you know she wants to get on the bed, Woofy barks at my Dad (and only my Dad) at 11pm every night for his lated-night cookie and toilet rituals, Max makes his displeasure known if you are petting the other dogs, Bido is constantly singing like a bird, even the cat meows at night wanting my Dad to grope her butt (long story).

4. Is your pet your best friend, a member of the family or both?
Always a member of the family. Friends too. I'm more partial to Max during my ups and downs and with Menina when it's all calm. Bido and Woofy aren't exactly in-sync with me but we have a mutual understanding.

5. Have you ever had to get rid of an animal for a reason beyond your control?
We never gave up on any animal that came through our door. Only one had to be put down due to extreme old age and refusing to eat and drink for days, and another one had to be put down due to a seizure and sadly on our part of not knowing better. We should have gone to a second and a third vet for other opinions, but that first vet we went to painted such a bleak picture we just decided to have it put down. When it was the economic downturn and money was short, we humans sacrificed a bit for the dogs. Even now, with Menina's continued required maintenance, I've given up on a lot of extracurricular activities so that I could get her monthly medications (medicine only up to USD$200 a month, vet visit every 2 or 3 months $300-$500, not to mention food, and expenses for the other 3 dogs too). Heck even when Woofy had to do that extremely expensive operation for his knee (USD$6000) we said yes without second thought (despite my bleeding purse)

Went for Hot-Pot (or shabu-shabu) the other day. Ordered this. Guess what it is?

Updates...

I've been shoddy at updating. I haven't been reading my friendlist as well. I am sorry. I will do that in the afternoon, as I'm in a bit of a rush to get one of my dogs to the vet for a regular check up. But I can already foresee the vet will want to do a myriad of tests on her.

Argh, that first paragraph was written in the morning. It's the end of the day now, and I can say that I've spent another big chunk of money on the dog for a couple of tests. The most important thing is she is well and has the perfect blood work!

Every dog/cat mom/dad would love to see such results.

There isn't really much new going on over this side of the world. Still working, may take a day off next week for a follow-up vet visit (all because of car arrangements)... have a badminton session with work colleague, and I want to look up the local sports center and see if there's any loose classes I can sign up to (I don't want to pay for a 2-year membership somewhere then take some classes I like but then having them change the schedule every 3 months and then I can't make it..... that's what's happening at my gym place)

Slowly building up my Nanoblock collection... I have no place to put them... but argh....

Slow in reading books as I've been reading some online fiction which totally doesn't go into the Goodreads bookcount, so I'm a bit miffed. But anyway...
