Friday Five 8-July

It's pretty tough this week! Need to think for long!

1. Would you ever go "under the knife" (or laser, or dental pick) for cosmetic purposes? What and why, and would it really be worth it?
I don't think I'll ever go under the knife purely for cosmetic purposes. I did go get my wisdom teeth removed which helped with the cosmetic side of things but the overrulling reason for that was because they were causing a lot of infection (trapped food, etc).
One of my aunts have always told me to go fix my nose shorter, but heck, I like my long nose, it's a family trademark. I don't really look European, my nose is my only redeeming feature - it's the Austrian side of the family's nose.

2. Describe your dream home, including location, design, and who/what’s in there with you.
I don't think location is very important (if I am to keep living in Macau). I'd like to have my own study (which would serve as the computer room and house shelves and shelves of books) - and the study should have huge windows or glass-doors to let the sunlight come in. Somewhere (preferably living room) there is a small verandah/balcony. Mainly minimalistic. I'd also like to have a feature wall somewhere though I haven't thought of where, and a feature of what. I guess I just haven't put a lot of thought on that.

3. You have one month to travel the world, all expenses paid. Where do you go and what do you do once you arrive?
Decisions, decisions, I don't know. There wouldn't be enough time to go around the world (that would need at least 80 days hahaha /joke). I guess I'd like to focus on a Europe travel. Not sure about road tripping, but since all expenses paid means I can go on an extravagant train trip or something right?

4. What scares the bloody heck out of you? Would you face it down if someone paid you? What’s your price?
I'm scared of a lot of things, though usually I don't look it. My colleagues and my boss at work have tried, a number of times, to startle me or scare me but I've always just not reacted (actually I did get a fright) and rolled my eyes and deadpan at them.

I don't really believe in all the supernatural and spooky stuff, but at the same time I do get spooked by the exact same things. I do get scared after watching a horror/ghost movie and I'd start thinking there are ghosts all around me.

Vermin, rats, roaches, I despise them all, but I can keep a pretty level head as long as they are some distance away and not dashing towards me.

I'm good with heights as long as there is some sort of barrier... if I'm in a high place without any sturdy support to hold on then I start to freak out.

But no, I will not face or willingly go through any of the things that scare me for any price.

5. You’re stranded on an island. What five simple items do you have with you? How do you survive? Anyone in particular you’d like to be stranded with? What would they bring to the table?
I'm tempted to say my Kindle but eventually the battery would die out, so no. I really don't know. I'll probably die out there. I've played a bit of Lost in Blue, so I guess the ever essential would be a knife. And the whetting stone thing (need to whet the knife, it's gonna get easily damaged if I have to use it for everything). A magnifying glass (I dunno, I remember it being able to be used to start a fire), a mirror (to reflect light/signal or something? I forgot if it's really useful or what). I guess a bottle or some kind of container.........

Companion... I dunno.... really dunno... whoever it is, it's gonna be for companionship and sharing of workload (gee, I really am thinking all of this based on that game).
