Long story short, Guangzhou
Friday, 9 June 2017 06:50So my friend Jenny and I went to Guangzhou, China over the weekend for ticking off an item from our "promised since Secondary School Graduation" activities. It was to visit the safari park there to see white tigers.
After all these years, I didn't really want to go as, hey, zoos, and well, I learnt that white tigers are actually "genetic defects" (whatever the term), but, a promise a promise, so we went. Besides, I wanted to get a chance to go on the new train thing in China.
Long story short: The white tigers were seen
And we did manage to return home on the fancy new train
And the rest of the photos are here: Guangzhou 2-day trip.
To elaborate a little more: apparently, Panyu is near the Guangzhou South Train Station, which is also connected by the MTR (underground, tube, whatever), so we didn't really need to go by the bus route (really outdated). So the return trip back to Macau was a breeze but the going there was a bit tricky.
Because of getting our return tickets at Guangzhou South, we lost a lot of time on the first day, so we swapped our plans and went window shopping in Guangzhou town on the first day. Much fun was had, and even more food was eaten.
Second day to the Safari Park was torture because of the heat. By visual cues, it seemed the zoo animals are treated well, let's hope that's the same case behind the scenes.
So... yeah, that was a fun little weekend trip! The downer is I developed a rash after this (actually, it was developing even before the trip) so now i have a pretty itchy spot along the underside of my right arm. Doctor says it's some kind of Eczema and prescribed some medication for me. Hope it goes away soon.
