Friday Five 17-August
Friday, 17 August 2018 22:471. What bad habits bother you the most?
Talking over someone who’s talking. I can’t stand it even if I’m just listening to a conversation that I’m not part of. Let him finish the sentence, damnit!
2. What good habits do you most admire?
Punctuality.
3. What unusual habits do you observe in your family members? Do they bother you?
Hmmm.... hmmmm..... hmmmmn.....!
Not exactly a habit, but something definitely only from my family.
Whenever a bee is flying around, I have an aunt who will say ”肥豬肉” in Cantonese over and over again... so it’s like “肥豬肉肥豬肉肥豬肉肥豬肉” when she sees a bee nearby. I haven’t heard anyone else ever say or do that.
And what does 肥豬肉 mean? Basically it means “fatty pork meat”. As for why saying that would drive a bee away, it remains a mystery even to me.
4. Which bad habit do you think would be the most difficult to get rid of? Why?
I’d guess it’s those “auto response” type of bad habits? Case in point: for my sis, it doesn’t matter what’s going on, just deny fault first and then see what to do. WTF. One time the washing machine went bonkers, she denied she did anything, and in the end when I fixed it, she says “maybe I did something”. WTF. It’s cute when you’re 4. It’s not funny when you’re almost 40.
5. Which good habit do you think would be the most difficult to develop? Why?
For me it’s healthy eating. Just too much temptation around.
