Home Renovation
Tuesday, 2 July 2019 21:22Wow, the home renovation project has FINALLY kicked off...
... with much scolding my Sis to get her ass moving in cleaning up. Everything depended on her cleaning out her stuff from the computer room to get things started.
Because of the dogs and cats, we are in no condition to move out entirely and let the renovation company do all the work. Instead, we are doing it room by room.
So the plan is:
- first remodel the computer room to a one-person bedroom for my Sis. Includes wall work and changing out wooden floor to a new fancy-mancy tile with a wood pattern. Sis continues to share bedroom with me.
- change out the headboard from my mom’s master bed, and wall work and changing the floor as well. Parents will bunk in Sis’ newly renovated room.
- remodel our current shared bedroom to a one-person bedroom, including wall work and changing the floor as well. I’m getting complete new furniture! (Goodbye old bunk bed and cupboard that are almost older than me!!!!!) Sis will sleep in her new room and if I’m lucky I’ll get to bunk with her or if not I’ll take the sofa.
- either after these or meanwhile, change out the floor for the rest of the apartment, and new furniture for the living/dining room.
- either during the rooms renovation or after everything, change out some kitchen furniture and change out floor tiles.
They say expect it 3 months, I kind of think it’s gonna be double that, but anyway!
I’ve drawn out a plan for the renovation guy, he will make me a shelf that is attached to my bed but he will only make it on one wall, so I’ll lose my nice bookshelf nook. I’ll make due and demand another shelf on another wall. I need shelves for my books and my toys/model displays!
I’ve cleaned out quite a bit of stuff. So far mom has given a lot of our unwanted items to our Amah. We told her we’re going to trash the things but some things are actually new (like freebie make up bags when we bought cosmetics) and she wanted everything, claiming she will sort out what she wants later.
Today is the first day that the men started working.... so much dust... everywhere...
