Snoopy Run HK 2019
Sunday, 10 November 2019 21:20I was in Hong Kong last week (2-3 November) for the Snoopy Run HK 2019. Basically it's just a 5km running race charging an exorbitant price because you get a limited edition Snoopy T-shirt, bag, water bottle and such.
With the daily riots in Hong Kong, I have to admit that it was rather scary.
So first on Saturday (2-Nov) I went to Hong Kong to see the Ghibli Museum in Hong Kong. It was fun but it wasn't spectacular as the exhibits were rather... half-arsed. Some cute replications; photo opportunity wasn't grand due to lighting, so I'll skip the photos, except for this one because I can tell a story with this LOL!
Anyway, we did some walk around in a mall, had an early dinner, and returned to the Hotel. As we got off at our MTR (metro) stop, Jordan, we learned the area was sealed off due to possible riots and all that (again). It was scary for a moment. We looked around the station and saw an exit going through a small mall, so we left that way, and rushed back to the hotel. Heck, even military-type helicopter was out that day.
Next morning, the 2 girls slept on while I went for my morning race (they applied for the lunch race only). Now, they had a shitty registration website back in July, and so I was registered to the 8:45am race and had 2 big Snoopy plushies. I was lucky as they had luggage storage so I could place all that stuff aside for the time being.
It was brutal! The sun! It's supposed to be NOVEMBER! Why is the sun still so brutal!?
I managed to run anyway, not too bad timing. Any anyway, everyone gets a medal LOL.

That sun makes me want to cry!

Why are the "staff" all so sucky at photo taking? (the Totoro Cat Bus stop as well)
So after this first race, I make my way back to the hotel (30 mins away by the metro) and pack my things together. Because guess what, I saw there was a bus stop at the race place that can go directly to that Hong Kong Zhuhai Macau Bridge (HKZMB). I told my friends we should take everything with us. So after we were all packed, off to the race venue again.

Second time coming here!

There were dogs a little later! But it's so hot for them! It was around noon at that time!
For this second race, it started at 1:30pm. It was just too sunny for me and I was tired. So I merely walked the 2km distance. I later learnt that the race with pets is only 2km. So we finished the "race" by walking, it was a slow walk. But everyone still got a medal, LOL.

And hey! The bus finally arrived! (LOL) A friend took this so it's framed better. (and a beautiful follow up to my Totoro Cat Bus Stop photo LOL)
Next was a very easy bus ride the the HKZMB and then the bus ride back to Macau. The difficult part was getting from the Macau "port" back home. I was so tired and sun burnt I just took a taxi.
I'm so not a day runner... I much to run at night without the sun. But I'll continue scheduling a day run once in a while.

The bus just isn't coming, I've waited for a long time! (LOL)

A lot of photo opportunities, but as I was alone, I didn't ask anyone to help me shoot any photos.
