The Weekend
Monday, 2 March 2020 21:53It's Monday, I didn't go to work today. I was supposed to have the previous Friday off, but the boss needed me to get some stuff done so I went back to work. So today I didn't go in. This HR thing to clear our time off balance really can't come in a more inconvenient time.
Yesterday I finally started running agin. Didn't do too well because it was an early morning run and because I wanted to avoid waking up the dogs, so I left quickly and stealthily and forgot to get a bite to eat and drink some water. Oops.
Let me take the chance to quickly mention this new(?) Dragon Quest Walk game on iOS. It's essentially like the Pokemon Go, but it's got more RPG elements than Pokemon Go. I prefer this Dragon Quest Walk more than Pokemon Go.
Back home, we walked the dogs and then I went to McDonald's to get us take out breakfast. I was feeling like pancakes breakfast (okay, McD's is hotcakes). The girl mixed up my order. I ordered 3 hotcake sets and 1 big breakfast set. She gave me 3 meal sets, so I said "I should have 4", and she guaranteed that there were 4 meal sets in. Then apparently she misheard me and thought I ordered a Sausage Egg McMuffin set instead. She quickly gave me the Big Breakfast and I needed to pay a few dollars difference. When I got home, I noticed she forgot to take out the Sausage Egg McMuffin. I wanted to go back down to pay for that but Mom said to forget it. In case you were wondering why she could mix up the 2 items, i think it's because I ordered by numbers instead of names, as I'm lazy to read out the full Chinese names and there is a chance I might mis-read, so I just go by numbers. Hotcakes is #4, Big Breakfast is #3, and Sausage Egg McMuffin is #8. Though even in Chinese, 3 and 8 doesn't sound similar. So I don't know how the girl mixed that up.
Breakfast was had, I did the usual laundry folding, and just lazed around on my bed. Then we went out for lunch. Had a "Sauerkraut Fish" vermicelli noodles LOL. It's basically fish cooked with preserved vegetables, so it's a bit sour. But there's one restaurant chain in China that is called "Sauerkraut Fish" that serves this and now I can only call that dish by this name. Yummy yum yum!
Back home and again lazed around in bed. Started reading a book and the dog came up for a nap. Eventually I fell asleep as well. I guess I woke up too early in the morning LOL. I actually slept through a lot of noise (I was told).
This dog is a total snuggle bug. See him snuggle when in the car. (The true story: he was trying to steal my glasses to chew on them)
Nothing much went on today though. Had to keep an eye on the emails but otherwise, it was relatively calm. Tomorrow is another office day.
