Friday Five Double 8-January-2021

1) What act of kindness have you witnessed (or done yourself) recently?
Oh, just a couple days ago, during our dog walk, we picked up a wallet. It didn't have much money on it, it had a receipt from a school, and then there was a money card (like the Oyster card in UK or IC card in Japan). On the money card, there was a label sticker thing with a telephone number, so I called that number. A woman answered but was all rude and short and started questioning me why I'm calling her.
Gee, I couldn't even get a word in. In the end, I just said very shortly "picked up a wallet with this number inside" and then she did a total 180.
Long story short, she got her husband to call me and he came to pick up his kid's wallet.
2) What is your favorite memory?
I don't know... anything with my dogs? LOL
3) What activity always seems to energize you?
I guess it will have to be running.
4) Did you do something recently that made you laugh at yourself? What was it?
I always laugh at myself, I can't recall exactly about what though. I think today I made a joke in the office that, finally the office is warmer than the outdoors.
5) What is your favorite inspirational quote?
In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me lay an invincible summer. - Albert Camus
And the following questions are from F.riday5.com!
1. What are some figurines you own?
I own quite a bit of those. I wrote about it before, so I'm lazy, and here is the link LOL
2. What are you trying to figure out?
Erm... I'm trying to find a suitable course to take, since the government has issued again the continuous education scheme, giving everyone a fixed amount of money to go and learn something. I was so hoping to continue with German, but there are no schools nor institions here that are offering German language!
3. Two circles or one continuous motion: how do you write the figure 8?
Always a continuous line.
4. How do you feel about Fig Newtons?
First question... what are Fig Newtons? Okay, after a search, by photo, if it's the same thing I've had before that looks like that, then it's super sweet and yuck.
5. What’s a good metaphor to describe your first week of 2021?
Same old same old.
