In my quest to "use up or just use stuff that has been lying around," I took my Paper Shoot Camera out today. It's called Paper Shoot and indeed the exterior is made of paper, but actually there's some technology within. I bought it a couple years back when I was in Taipei.

So it's essentially a low-tech point and shoot camera. It even works without any of the optional lenses, and after trying out a bit, I actually prefer no lense (despite I love how a fisheye photo comes out as). Next time I'll post photos that have were taken with the either of the lenses I have (fisheye and wide angle).

After lunch today, I decided to take a walk around my office building and shoot some photos with it. I have long-forgotten the despair of using an old school point and shoot and... not knowing if you caught the view well right away! I was impatient the whole day, as my work computer is blocked from connecting to any external storage, so I couldn't look at the photos at work. Imagine back then you had to finish a whole roll of film then go develop it, and if you were lucky, you had a 1-hour photo-finishing shop nearby.

Enjoy!

Military Club. It's a clubhouse and you need a membership to use the lounge and whatever else (I don't know), but there is a restaurant for public use too. The restaurant here serves good authentic Portuguese food (at least, last I've been there). Don't know if they changed chefs or not.

Scooters are everywhere here, it's an easy and convenient mode of transport. I have a scooter license (no, my license is for a 150cc motorbike, so I can actually ride a bike, not just a scooter!). Colloquially, in Cantonese we call scooters 綿羊仔 (little sheep). Here, they are all crammed and parked in a parking area that's supposed to hold... I don't know, half the amount of bikes in here.

The park/small garden I mentioned before. I think I used a filter that was on the camera.

The Octagon Library/Newspaper kiosk.

Random street shot. Hotel Sintra and some super-old buildings in view.

Mosaic pavements in Macau. Oh so pretty to look at. Don't wear heels, especially thin heels like stillettos. Your shoes will die and kill you with them if the thin heels get stuck. When it's raining it's slippery like hell, even proper walking or sports shoes are still slippery (I slipped a couple times!). Get shoes with good grip!

And that was my super short walk around the area around my workplace. It was practically a 5-10 minute walk.

Questions from F.riday5.com: Brr!

1. What will you remembrr about this past week?
Nothing really special happened this week. Maybe except for the picnic I went to on Sunday?

2. What’s trying its best to clobbrr you these days?
Actually, nothing really. The typical answer would either be my Boss (for all his weird instructions) or Mom (nagging and nitpicking), but honestly recently it has been pretty good. And now I've jinxed myself. Something's gonna happen soon.

3. What’s going on in the neighbrrhood?
Nothing much. The CNY's just over, yesterday was everyone's birthday, and next week is Chinese Valentine's Day. One of my neighbors on the lower floors of the opposite building has been practicing a lot of piano lately, and lately they've been trying out Chopin's Fantaisie Impromptu and I looooovvveee it!

4. When were you recently required to summon some brravery?
Honestly, every time I have to make a phone call. I hate phone calls. I hate the uncertainty of a phone call. When I'm talking face to face, I can look at their facial expression to gauge whether they are being funny, sarcastic, mad or whatever else. Also if I didn't quite catch what they said, I can try to lip read, or I can just raise an eyebrow to convey that I didn't understand. On the phone? Nothing. Nada. And I hate that. And yet my job nature requires me to talk on the phone a lot (thank god I'm not a call centre person or a cold call marketer or call operator, I'd be miserable).

5. Over what will you happily labrr this weekend?
I've half given up on the crochet thing as I just can't count the stitches! It could be that I bought cheap dollar-store yarn and that's why, so I may just wander over to a proper yarn shop and ask them if there are specific yarns that are good for crocheting, and try again. And if not? ... I don't know, see if anyone is willing to commission that doll for me, I guess!
