Friday Five 12-March-2021 #2 Twelve Months
Saturday, 13 March 2021 12:51This set of questions come from F.riday5.com!
1. In what ways has pandemic life been positive for you?
Well, it's helped me save quite a bit of money. I can't go travel now, so all those expenses have turned to savings. It has also forced me to find other ways to entertain myself. I've picked up potted plants (as I heard many people did during this time as well). Oh and also, as now everyone is required to wear facemasks everywhere, I think I actualy got sick (common cold, upper respiratory track infection, etc) less times than usually.
2. Where (and how often) did you get your pandemic news this past year?
The Macau government opened a portal or group chat thing on Telegram, and I've subscribed to it. So local news, it's all from this Telegram channel. At my workplace, the PR there collects daily news clippings of the situation in Macau and Hong Kong, so I read that every day as well. There's always those Facebook news articles, but as with all things on Facebook, I take those with a grain of salt.
3. Where did you find unexpected comfort in these crazy twelve months?
I still don't understand why people go on a tizzy about wearing a face mask. Even I, someone who wears glasses, don't mind the fogged up glasses. There are liquids you can use to clean the glasses with that eliminates that you know. Besides, if you are out in the open, say hiking or somewhere that is not filled with people, you can always take it off and breathe fresh air. It's just when there are people around and when you go indoors that you put them on.
4. What are some little things you miss most about what used to be normal life?
Travel. It's travel. As I wrote in one of my past posts, I can't even go to China.
5. What do you think life will be like twelve months from now?
I think things will eventually open up, but I'm not sure of the when. As a running joke, I like to say next year is the year 2020-too, so it could be bad! LOL
