LiveJournal is 22 today!
Friday, 16 April 2021 19:05Domain LiveJournal.com was registered on April 15, 1999. The same year, the cult movie "The Matrix" was released, the 6 billionth inhabitant of the Earth was born in the city of Sarajevo, and Britney Spears' debut single Baby One More Time topped the world charts.
On April 15, 2021 LiveJournal turns 22 years old! LiveJournal celebrates its birthday and gives you a card with a bright event that happened the year you started your blog!
What happened in your life the year you started your blog?
I have to go through the archive to see what it is I wrote about. I don't even remember why I started an LJ at that time. I had already a pretty written in Wordpress (my book reviews, photography, etc...). I think I started the LJ just for commenting in some communities, I think. Most likely some fanfic communities. Heck, I now see that my earliest entry has been set to private and it's a draft to a fanfic I wrote LOL. I most likely deleted my old posts as I see a post written in 2007 that says I've wiped out the posts and am writing anew. Huh. So I had the LJ in 2003, must have written something meanwhile, deleted everything in 2007 and started to write in earnest then. Interesting.
I don't remember any of it.
Anyway... might as well chronicle a bit of my blogging history.
My first every "blog" of sorts was at Diaryland. I was obsessed. It was because of the blog that I learned all that html and photo editing so that I could create spiffy nice layouts. Then, by the same guy, he started Pitas (I think). Diaryland was more a one entry per page thing, so, a diary, and Pitas was more like a blog format, where you scroll down for older posts.
Both platforms didn't offer space for images so I remember starting my layouts without images, but instead using HTML and tables and colors and I did make interesting layouts back then. Ah... I remember, working on my Sis' clunky big Macintosh.
A short stint with Blogger, I didn't like it. I was on Xanga for a while. Didn't like the ads, and then Wordpress at that time was free and no ads, and it looked infinitely more sophisticated than Xanga, so there I went. It was around the same time I got in LJ. I'm sad I didn't get a lifetime account at that time (still a student, no extra money for myself). I faintly remember it was when Wordpress started to put ads that I finally decided to switch to here at LJ.
So here I am, carved a little online home for myself here.

Friday, 16 April 2021 19:201. In what way have you recently been rebellious?
I'm more contrary than rebellious, and some people see being contrary as being rebellious so there. Just the other day, a department pulled me trick and said "they were busy with an event so they can't make it to the meeting and need to reschedule it."
Number 1. My meeting was scheduled before the announcement of the event.
Number 2. The event was announced a full week before, you had plenty of time to reschedule before the event date.
Number 3. It is just so not done that you reschedule a meeting 2 hours before it is supposed to start and use the reason that "you are assisting in the event" to say you are busy, because of the above 2 points.
Number 4. They asked to reschedule to a date after a certain key person would have left the company. They were flippant and said "he's leaving on the 20th. We can have the meeting on the 19th."
So, me being contrary, I said no. "It's gonna be tomorrow. And I don't care how you reschedule your other meetings, I'm not moving it anymore!"
2. What fond memories do you have of camping out?
I've never camped. So I can't answer this question. If the travel restrictions loosen up, there is a place in Japan I'd like to go that does glamping (Glamourous camping LOL) that I may want to try.
3. When did you last have a snow cone, or something similar?
I had a Starbucks something frappe last week, I suppose it's as similar to a snow cone as it goes?
4. Where do you have difficulty fitting in? Where do you easily fit in?
I don't really fit in in grand parties? I'm not much of a talker. And in general. There's still a major divide between me and the other admins on the floor. I just don't mix. I try to mingle, but... that's just not me.
5. How do you feel about banannas?
I'm not sure if that's a typo or..... I like bananas well enough. And I don't really like bandanas...?
