These questions are from [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive

1. What luxury is totally worth the price?
I consider A/C as a luxury and it is totally worth the monetary price. If I have to choose between forgoing a meal or something, I would, in order to be allowed to switch the A/C on. But of course, nowadays it's not just the monetary value, there's all those interconnected effects and whatnot, so if talking about ALL THAT then well, of course one will have to reconsider.

I live practically in the tropics (almost. Not quite. But it's so hot I might as well say I do), and we have a house rule that, the A/C can only be switched on at night, after 6pm. If the living room one is on, then the bedrooms CANNOT have A/C. So, if the living room has the A/C on, we all migrate to the living room. And then after dinner, say may be 9pm then the living room A/C goes off, then we can switch on the bedroom A/Cs. Makes sense, as we all have separate bedrooms, so if we switch on the bedrooms A/C early, then we have 3 A/Cs running.

Oh and then in the morning, on workdays we have to switch off the A/C at 8ish. Weekends if sleeping in then fine, switch off at 10ish.

But then throughout the day, no way. Of course I can say I go out to the mall to escape the heat but then.... my dogs are at home too! So poor them! And thus, I will decide to stay home and suffer together. In the rare event that it's really unbearably hot, then Mom will allow us to switch on the living room A/C earlier and then everyone is happy.

2. What is the most unique or silliest problem you have going on in your life at the moment?
I don't know? Right now, it's the A/C again. I just came home from outside (it's around 3.30pm now), it's swelteringly hot, I really want the A/C but, as mentioned, not allowed, so instead I have 2 fans blasting directly at me. I'll probably end up with a headache tonight because of all the wind.

3. If you were so wealthy you didn’t need to work, what would you do with your time?
I'd like to say do something meaningful and read a lot, but let's be realistic, I don't think I'd stick to that LOL. If I absolutely didn't have to work, I would still go find something to do. It's not the salary, it's the being too idle. Maybe I could volunteer at the shelter or help my friend in her shop.

4. What is the most tedious and/or the most exciting sport to watch?
Spectator sport isn't my thing. But if I were to choose, I'd watch women's volleyball. As for tedious, I have no idea.

5. What do you think the ideal age to be is?
Nothing better than aged NOW.

So after my haircut in the morning, and then went for a quick pre-lunch lunch, because my manicure booking was at 1pm (salons were closed for 2 weeks due to the COVID scare for a bit, and now that everything's opened, everything is full), I wasn't exactly sure of the timing of busses and all that. I found myself with half an hour to spare when the bus was half-way to my manicure place area. I decided to hop off the bus 2 stops early, and went to see the new(ish) Patane Library.

They refurbished a row of old buildings and it looks pretty chic. In terms of library and books, I do not consider this a real library because there wasn't that very many books. There were just around 8 or so shelves of books, and only 1 shelf for English books. I'm not surprised as that area doesn't have much foreigners living in, and isn't a tourist area either.

They hung up signs of the sorting numbers or category numbers, and everything in English is cramped into the 1 shelf LOL.

But what's really cool about this library is they've kept parts of the original old building and left it as-is, giving it a grungy and cool look.

Aaaaaand, the stuff that I like are the old windows and pipes and trimmings... they made a feature wall of that!

And the rest under the cut will be the remaining photos that... I have no commentary about LOL LOL LOL sorry!

Hope you enjoyed!
