LJ [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive questions!

1. What is your favorite carnival ride?
Carnivals aren't really a thing in my life. I've been to a couple, but not while in my home country/city. I've been to the Feira Popular (Portuguese Wiki link) in Lisbon, but there wasn't really much on favorite rides.

I'm referencing the list of rides as shown here.

There was a ride I hated though. It was one of those swinging things that would swing 360º and even stop while you were suspended upside-down? I suppose it's something like the Kamikaze. I was a young kid, and they didn't give any warnings, so everything in my pockets (money coins) fell out of my pockets while being upside down. I got so much sh*t from my Mom.

I was also in one of those spinning things... Similar to the Enterprise when I was in an amusement park in China. As it was spinning, my Sis said the trap door was loose, and we were clinging to our lives trying to go against the swing force (g-force?) so as to keep that door closed. I'm laughing now as I'm retelling this, but it was damn scary at that time.

I don't mind roller coasters (Disneyland variants are nice)... so since I've touched on Disney, I must say my favorite ride so far (not limited to "carnival" rides) is the Buzz Lightyear shooting gaming.

2. What is your favorite thing to do outside?
I actually do enjoy hiking. The dogs are getting old, so we haven't been hiking lately, and I do miss it.

3. What is your favorite household chore?
I don't mind dusting and sweeping. Doesn't mean it's my favorite. I do, however, loathe dishwashing. I don't mind so much dishwashing if I had cooked, because I keep soiled wares to the absolute minimum, but I really do hate doing the dishes if my Dad has been cooking. He can cook 1 dish (and 1 dish only!) but used some 20 different wares (bowl, plate, measuring spoon, measuring bowl, measuring cup, another plate to temporarily placed that item in, 50 pans, etc)

4. What is something that you always have with you?
In this day and age, it's the mobile phone.

5. If you could visit any single city in the world (that you have not visited before), where would you go?
Funnily enough, although the USA isn't very high in my to-visit bucket list, when I read this question, my mind just jumped to NYC.

Followed by F.riday5.com questions!

I really like this week's questions...... should I understand them as the pun, or should I understand them as what they want to mean? LOL

1. What do you expect to do syrup-titiously in the coming weeks?
The Boss just handed me a special project and so I'm now doing the preliminary research to see what there is to know about it. I'll eventually move on to actually building the framework. The topic though, is not exactly what the company is about, so I don't know. I'll have to do the research in a low-profile way?

2. What did you ketchup on this week, or ketchup with?
There were plans to have lunch with D, however, with the new wave of covid cases, everything has been cancelled for now. I'm trying to set up a casual dinner with C and P for next week though. Well it's time for a catch up over some fries and ketchup LOL

3. What was the occasion the last time you enjoyed dressing up?
Mom's birthday dinner last week, I put on a dress. It was a little large on me (I did buy a larger size, believing I couldn't fit into the smaller size)... but yeah, I was in a total girly dress LOL.

4. What television series did you most recently watch with great relish?
Ugh... people around me are now watching that Squid Game or whatever Korean thing? I saw the ending bit of episode 4 or so as I walked past my Sis' room the other day, and it's just not my cup of tea. I do claim that I do not mind human death, as long as THE DOG DOESN'T DIE, but there's just too much death in that series, I don't think I'd pick that up. After that, I haven't been watching much TV. I don't think I've watched anything with great relish.

I did start watching a J-drama Signal a couple of weeks back. I think it's a re-do from a K-drama? Looks interesting enough and I had planned to continue watching that but I guess the pull wasn't that strong.

So... the last series that got me to really want to watch and continue.... Emergency Interrogation Room. Basically, I like anything with Yuki Amani. Really liked her Boss series. Fumiyo Kohinata is also a personal favorite.

5. When did someone most recently shoyu how to do something?
Ah, just the other day, I had to ask for assistance from an IT tech guy on how to send an overly-large file. I was actually angling for the IT tech to open a company FTP account for me. Instead, he taught me to zip the file into smaller chunks, then sending those chunks by email separately. I didn't know I could break a file up to zip it in smaller chunks. You learn something new everyday.
