Not waiting for [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive, so here are questions from F.riday5.com

This week’s questions (and their explanatory introductions) are inspired by this Mental Floss article about words in other languages without English equivalents.

1. Iktsuarpok is Inuit for that feeling of anticipation when you’re waiting for someone to show up at your house and you keep going outside to see if they’re there yet. Who last invoked iktsuarpok in you?
It's usually the postman or the courier, and indeed, as I'm writing this... I am anticipating a package arrival! (The guy did call me yesterday to say it's scheduled to be for today)

2. Georgians call it shemomedjamo when you’re really full, but your meal is just so delicious, you can’t stop eating it. When did you memorably shemomedjamo?
Any sort of fried rice, and a good, moist, butter-based cake (I hate the cream based ones)... oh boy, I go on and on without stopping and then I feel sick.... LOL

3. Zhaghzhagh is Persian for the chattering of teeth from the cold or from rage. When were you last so cold (or so enraged) you experienced zhaghzhagh?
My office A/C is uncontrollable. There are controls on the walls, but those are decoy controls. It doesn't affect. We have to call the engineering department and request them to adjust, but, the thing is, the engineering department keeps reverting those back (because it's centrally controlled) so, soon the cold A/C is blasting again. And it is freezing in my office.

4. A bilita mpash in Bantu is the opposite of a nightmare: an amazing dream. Whenever a dream question shows up in memes, half the respondents say they don’t remember their dreams, but here we go anyway. What is one bilita mpash you remember?
There was one dream where I thought it was amazing, not because it was wonderful, but because, I was amazed at myself. It was a work-related dream. Someone wanted to call some other Boss' assistant, but called me. And dream-me was arguing with the person on the phone... and dream-me was able to recite a few assistant's telephone numbers and mobile phone numbers. I was amazed by that.

5. In Thailand, the feeling you get when you don’t want someone to do something for you because it would be a pain for them is greng-jai. When did you recently resist greng-jai and ask someone anyway?
I usually avoid asking people to do something that is obviously an inconvenience to them. Now there was a time a colleague knew I needed the help and she helped me anyway, and I am grateful for that, honestly!

Thanks for participating, and may your weekend be safe and LAGOM!
