And I’m color blind

I've accepted the truth that I'm approaching my 40th birthday LOL (i mentioned it on this post) and went to get my stuff together to renew my driver's license.

I went to get new ID photos taken, because while I still had 3 available from the China-visa I applied 2 months ago (middle bottom), I looked like a prisoner LOL so I went to take again. I then found another ID photo I had from when I renewed my Austrian Passport a few years back (leftmost), but I didn't have 3 of the same photo. Well this new photo I took (rightmost) I don’t quite like because I was freaking smiling, and it's a Kermit the Frog smile LOL. The photographer kept saying “give me a smile!” I thought ID photos should be emotionless? But they knew I was taking the photo for drivers license, so I’ll leave it up to the bureau on Friday when I go there to submit the application.

This morning I also went to the company clinic to get my eyes checked. Apparently, I'm somewhat color blind. Honestly I'm not surprised. But the freaking test he gave me didn't make sense. It was one of these tests, and I know these are standard tests. I can see it's and 81 and 45. But the tests he showed me... I saw a distinct pattern, but it wasn't numbers. But he kept saying it's numbers. So I actually pointed out to him, I can clearly see that this dot is red, this dot is red, that dot is green, but I'm sorry, I can't see that these link up to show a number. Is that an alphabet? And he vehemently says this book only has numbers. So I flip the pages a bit and there was one image very obviously having the words CHINA because the colors were a pale blue against a deep red. He then says "that's too easy so it doesn't count!" But I countered with "this is proof this book might use alphabets as well."

Then he said "oh, but anyway, you can tell the colors apart, so it should be fine." So I passed the color test LOL. Then it was the directional E things, and I pretty much squared that according to my current astigmatism levels, so I passed that as well. Can drive with glasses or contacts.

I also booked another Chiropractor for this afternoon, I've heard good comments about this one, so hopefully he can find out just what is wrong with my wrist.

Everything back to normal… as normal as it can be….!

Full team back at work. In-restaurant dining allowed. So. OFF I WENT TO THE COFFEE SHOP and I didn't have to do the group order with my colleagues. Besides, the full team is back, they can tally together their order for something like a big group order.

I did complain about wanting salad before, so I got the Chef’s salad. Granted, it looks like it’s got more meat than salad. How would you eat this salad? I don't mix everything together. I start with the cherry tomatoes, then I eat up the cucumber, then maybe I'll take a bite of cheese with a piece of lettuce. Then I attack the egg. Next the beef. Next the pork. Finally the chicken. If by the end of it there's still salad leaves remaining, I'll dip the tiniest bit of dressing (they forgot to ask me today, and defaulted to giving me thousand island) and finish the salad up.

Which also means that's why I'm hungry now for dinner LOL.

As I promised myself, I stepped out a little bit in the afternoon to see a Chinese doctor. Chiropractor/Bone-setters, but apparently my Dad calls them the Kung-fu doctors LOL. Streets are still relatively empty, but that might be because of the heat.

The same drill as with all my previous attempts and finding a good doctor to diagnose the issue. He held my arm and felt around my wrist area and very casually or flippantly said "you have a small bone here that's out of place" and before I could ask what bone where? And he pulled and I felt a snap in the wrist. It hurt like hell, but the shock of it made me laugh instead. Then he felt around again and said "ah, not yet" and pulled at another angle and again I felt a snap. Next, he taped a thing on my wrist, attached to a machine and switched it on, must be some kind of electro-therapy thing. And then he left. I started to feel very badly then, I surmised he did relocate a bone or something, I usually feel that kind of bad when I have a bone related injury. Or maybe I was in shock. I finally understood what it meant to "sweating buckets"... it was a heavily air conditioned room and yet I was sweating buckets and I felt my sight darken, and I know that's usually when I might faint or pass out. So I hunched over and rested my head on my arm and had to remove my face mask, because I suddenly couldn't breathe. Sounds like a panic attack, so I think the going in shock thing was right. Soon, before the doctor stepped back in, my head cleared and he bandaged me up and told me to try not to move or put weight on it, and that if I still have pain then I go there again the day after tomorrow.

Went back to the office, had some heated discussion about how to calculate the time offs from the lock down period. I don't have to handle the attendance, but the lady that does never understands the instructions. I had to like teach her every step of the way. They were all discussing what type of leave to take and I had to slip in, maybe like a Karen or a know-it-all, but their incessant chatting that led to nowhere just annoyed me to no end. I told them to forget about the leave schemes or whatnot. First mark down all the RDOs (regular day offs), so those can be ignored then see the total number of business days that each person did not work. There are different schemes to take, for example, there's a "7+1" scheme where when you take 7 days PTO (paid time off) then you get "gifted" one day from the company. Or there's another scheme where you take 2 days unpaid leave and the company "gifts" you one extra day. Well, there is a third option of taking advanced leave up to June 2023... but personally, I'd rather take an unpaid leave now, then use up my future leave time. The whole thing was ridiculous.Hardly worth the few-days worth of ping pong discussions and "OMG! What to do! This is so hard to do!" The girl even didn't understand how to read each person's paid time off balance, despite doing that job for the past 5 years, just because our payroll suddenly switched from showing leave balance in hours to showing leave balance in days.

BUT I DIGRESS.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got home. Salad night! With some deep fried finger food. That means... I CAN CONTROL MY PORTIONS! I love Dad's cucumber yoghurt salad. It was yum. The cherry tomatoes came out OK this time. Usually Dad misjudges the vinegar and makes them too sour.

After dinner, it was dog walk time and when we arrived, we saw that there were no dogs at the dog park. Thinking we scored lucky, we took the dogs in, but apparently there were people in there, a man and a woman. Frankie saw them and went to greet them, but the man used his leg to shove him away. My Dad says "he's friendly!" In English, but maybe the man didn't understand, so my Dad pulls Frankie away and Frankie goes to the grass and does his business and rounds.

When he's over the first round, he goes back to the couple, and this time the man kicks Frankie. And as French Bullies go, if you push them back, they get more crazy. I try to hold onto Frankie (with my bandaged wrist and all) and say "He's just friendly and won't bite if you don't antagonize him!" In Chinese. He screams, essentially scolding me, "I'm afraid of dogs!".

As I always describe myself, treat me good and I'll treat you better, treat me bad and I'll treat you worse, I replied sarcastically, "Well what did you expect? This is a dog park. Were you hoping to see a cat?" I pulled Frankie away and then the couple packed up and left. Geez. Go to a normal park people, let the dogs have their space. And Frankie is a sweet munchkin when unprovoked.

SO. The Chinese bonesetter doctor wants me to keep the bandage (with the paste medicine inside) on for at least 8 hours, so I can't go shower yet. I'm going to leave it on another hour then I'll go shower and prepare for sleep.

It's starting to rain and pour outside. Yay. I can put my new rain boots, rain coat, and rain bag to use! But now I remember I left my umbrella in the office. Duh.
