What hygienic concerns indeed!?
Tuesday, 16 August 2022 12:00Ugh.
Open plan offices and the people with no boundaries.
For some reason, the topic of face masks came up and the ladies outside were making a ruckus about face masks, price, and stuff.
Now, the preventive measures are relaxed, so everyone takes there masks off when in the office and within their own cubicles. I do the same, and put a nail on my partition wall so I can hang my mask there. And while yes, I admit that's not optimal, I do have a bottle of antiseptic spray that I spray around in that walll and in my cubicle (admittedly, once in a blue moon).
Anyway.
The ladies were talking about face masks. And then they talked of a particular brand, which is the one I'm using.
One of the management boss-man (actually, two of them, but separately) came out and actually just snatched my face mask to feel the fabric and commenting "ah, it's not too thick".
WTF.
Then the second guy came and did the same commenting "ah the elastic is not tight too".
I had half a mind to say "yeah, why don't you try it on." If you couldn't imagine it, let me tell you, if i had said that out loud, it would be in the most sarcastic tone I could muster up, with a gigantic eye roll. I didn't. They could write me up.
Point is. Hey! It's a face mask. Get your filthy hands off it! Again, admittedly, the mask could possibly be filthier than their hands... but it's the PRINCIPLE OF IT! You don't go around manhandling people's used face masks!?
Even though I'm far from being a germaphobe but I'm also not a germaphiliac. I just, don't fear them and would not go to extremes. Like I always say: I live with dogs. I don't fear a bit of dirt. While I don't go about sticking my tongue into my dog's mouth, I don't mind it when they lick my face either. And I do the same ppfffffttttt uuurggh when they accidentally lick my mouth (yeah, especially with Frankie).
So. My assaulted face mask. I'm going to leave it hanging there until the end of the day and throw it out when I leave. I have spares in my bag anyway, and I'm not going to open a new one now, lest they come manhandling my face mask again. And they didn't go wash their hands after holding onto my mask! Neither with the sanitizing gel or whatever!
WHAT are these people thinking???
