So I lost to temptation
Thursday, 18 August 2022 14:44LOL hello from a spiffy shiney new 2022 Midnight Blue MacBook Air (M2). I'm going to do a proper sweep and transfer of the old laptop to the new and then reset factory settings on the old one and pass it on to Apple for the recycling program.
Setting up a new computer is a bit of a pain, but it has been 10+ years so I think it isn't too bad.
Just some random life updates as... I'm enjoying the screen and want to look at photos and stuff.
While waiting for a meeting to start, I flicked around the candy box and a thought randomly popped up in my mind: this is a gummy candy, but the company is cocoaland, and my brain ran off with the thought of getting confused that COCOAland but GUMMY candy and all that. I'm weird.
Had a rather exciting breakfast today: pancakes! My mom and sis buy their skincare products from Estee Lauder, and a few years back they had some member's gift or whatnot... that was this Bruno brand... hotplate cooker? Griller? And then recently (yes, it was a few years later) that they finally decided to bring the machine out and use it. The default plates in the package was a flat plate and a Takoyaki grill plate, and Dad wanted a proper steak grill plate (the one with a few ridged lines?). So when I was on Taobao and looking for that, I saw they had pancake plates as well, and got them. Dad decided to try it out again today and made some pancakes. Nice and thick! Not like the recent-McDonalds' flat pancakes haha.
I've been having rather light lunches lately. The Thai pork neck with green mango salad on the left is a great summer food, but with the amount of pork neck I can't really say that this is a plain salad... it's meat more than greens... LOL. The spicy lentils soup on the right is really good, and I always ask for toast bread to go with it. Today, I had the soup as I wanted something warm (the air con in the office is brutal today).
Dad's trying to be fancy and making fancy avocado salad with shrimps.
Got a couple new postcards and also received some new wax seals and stationary, so I'll probably do all my snail mail and postcrossing on Friday. Featuring a little more photos of my dachshund mix Menina: She's 17 years old! (Deep in my heart I'm worried this is the last year we have her so I'm giving her all the cuddles and attention!)
Alright, after typing this whole post... I can say I don't quite like the clicking spot on the trackpad on this new MacBook Air. I can't feel if I've clicked on it or not. But thank goodness I do have a mouse to spare, so that's not so much a worry for me.
