A real update
Friday, 18 May 2012 23:28I felt really productive today!
And I was overall in a pretty good mood today.
It seemed like this year everyone is trying to give me money. First, I won MOP$1000 worth of cash coupons for the local Japanese department store (did I ever mention that? Apparently one of the credit cards I use has a monthly lucky draw and I just so happened to win 5th prize in April).
Then I find out that my mobile phone carrier gave me back all my unused and expired bonus points, probably because of my iPhone plan, I am now a "privilege member"... so I had over 8000 points in my account.
I also got a letter for the government Finance department stating that my company has overcharged me for my 2011 income tax so they're going to refund me a whopping MOP$900.
A colleague gave me a discount coupon for a spa service at the Grand Lapa. You may not know what the Grand Lapa is, but our Grand Lapa used to be the Mandarin Oriental Macau. Now Mandarin Oriental built a new hotel and sold out their part of the old hotel, so they had to rename it. However, the Grand Lapa will still hold some staff of the Mandarin Oriental... so... it's essentially still Mandarin Oriental service.
I still haven't used the cash coupons though, although I have plans to use them all tomorrow at the department store. I can use a refill for my major skincare items.
I've already used the bonus points. I exchanged a couple of top-up value cards, as my Dad is not on a plan but only on these top-up cards. I got a portable charger at a big discount for myself and for my mom. I also got a coupon for a discount on an electric toothbrush. I still have some points left but since they expire in 2013 so I'll keep accumulating points until then and see what else I can exchange.
The tax refund will have to wait for a bit as the letter said that i'll have to claim it back from the company. I'm sure it's going to take forever, but ohwell, money is always money.
I intend to use the spa coupon when I'm back from my trip. :D
So we are right now trying out the bread machine. The very first recipe we're making is just a bread mix recipe that came with the machine. After that, I think I'll try to make a French bread recipe and time it to be ready tomorrow morning at 7am. I wanna see how the timer works!
My parents will be going on holiday a few days after my return, so I expect that i'll be very busy when I come back, with work, with cleaning up my travel shopping, with sorting through photographs... and of course, taking care of the dogs alone. I doubt I'd get any help from my Sister. Oh, even with cleaning up the house, I doubt she'd move a finger. But I've decided to shut up and let it be. If I complain too much, then I'm the bad one again. I don't mind taking care of the dogs and minding the house. Just don't make me serve her. I'll make my own meals, eat my own food and she can do the same. She doesn't have to work at home but she better not expect that things get done for her
I'm encountering a little trouble with my holiday plans. There's one company that I have to pay a deposit for a transport booking between Cesky Krumlov in Czech and Vienna, Austria, and they need me to pay a deposit via Paypal. Lucky me, Paypal does not accept credit cards from my "country", Macau. So I can't pay the deposit. So I can't secure the booking. Oh boy...
Tomorrow I'll probably get into the office to pick up that dymo machine I mentioned (genius me, it was a Friday 6pm, I was so excited to get off work that I forgot to take that machine with me). I'll also go pick up a new pair of jeans and a jeans skirt, a couple new T-shirts and socks. All for the trip. oh and those mini bottles that I could fill up with my shampoo and shower cream.
And Sunday night will be our final meeting before the trip. I hope there are no casualties, as I can feel everyone is getting tense and worked up and everyone has something against everyone. And we are simply a group of 3.
I hope the trip will not break our friendships though!
I don't know why I'm in a generally happy and chipper mood today. The food I ate? The arrival of the bread machine? I don't know....
But anyway, I'm starting to get sleepy... but the bread machine is not done yet! I'll just go wash up and prepare the ingredients for the next bread we intend to make :D
