Cesar's Rules: Your Way to Train a Well-Behaved Dog
Cesar Millan, Melissa Jo Peltier
Amazon Product Link

First time reading Cesar Millan. I only know a little about him as I haven't watched any of the Dog Whisperer shows, only saw him for a guest appearance in an episode of Bones (and I'm not even sure if it really was him or another trainer), but I liked what little I knew of him and his methods.

I read the Kindle version of the book and while the formatting is good, when images are involved then the page breaks kind of doesn't work well - like a photo shows up without the caption (caption in the following page). I understand that it might be difficult to perfect formatting with images on the Kindle as a reader may increase or decrease font size and that will once again mess up all the positionings, so perhaps for this book one might be more at ease with a physical book (if you are the type to get increasingly annoyed by weird formatting).

Pretty informative book. Many of the points that Cesar brings up, I already know, but then, I've never applied knowledge into daily life... like, when detailing the pros and cons of a harness type of collar, he says that a dog's natural instinct, when fitted with a harness, is to push forward... a fact that I know so well... but then when it comes to dealing with my own dog wearing a harness, I keep on wondering why the little rascal just wouldn't listen and just wants to push forward... so the book has served to be a reminder that I should think thoroughly and connect the dots. I also liked "A dog is a dog is a dog", or more like I felt really proud reading those words as I've actually uttered the exact phrase myself before reading the book.

Cesar also weighs for us the different training methods (on/off lease, clicker, hand signal, voice commands, etc...) and training tools (leather collar, choke chain, gentle leader, harness, etc...)

Dog lovers, pet owners, you may want to give it a go, if not for the actual training tips, then for the little anecdotes and side stories that Cesar tells :)

Anyone can train a well-behaved dog, the problem is when you have a train a poorly-behaved dog! ;)

I love this guy! I often make fun of him but I always catch his shows and the passion he has for dogs is just amazing.
