elusivekI've been really busy... exhausted everyday after work and well... work and home each had stuff going on.
The Dogs
So, the tiny fat dog had his surgery, blood test showed he had canine pancreatitis, he had to stay hospitalized for a week. Geez. I had to run out from work to visit the bugger everyday. I don't understand none of my other family members did that, they seemed to be relying on me to get it done.
So my Dad said he would bear the cost of this dog as, this is really my Sister's dog, but my Mom said I should be the one to pay for it because my Sister earns chicken shit. High-five to equality in the house. Well, since i was the one visiting the dog daily, the nurse caught me one day and asked me to clear the bill. So I did. My Dad didn't pay me yet, and I'm not asking him to. I like the dog enough to be willing to bear the expenses, I'm just upset with the mentality my Mom has and the gall that she had to say that out loud.
Anyway, now the pancreas thing is treated (yay), and I mentioned to the vet I hear a clicking sound in his other leg and voila, it's the same problem. So when he's all healed up in that leg then he has to go under the knife again. Now I also have a $60,000 dog. No, wait. Make it $80,000 or so. USD$10,000 I guess, by rough calculations, so I'm still far from actually replicating that book, but yeah, the sentiment is there.
Now the next dog, Menina,
This was a more tricky case. Her spinal or disc-something hernia just isn't going away. I don't doubt she has sudden jolts of pain, but I'm also convinced that somehow, sometimes, she's just milking the attention to it. We are not taking her out anymore as every time I carry her wrong she'll scream and whine and all. If she has to go out, we put her in a bucket dog-bed so we don't, I don't know, move her spine as we carry her.
Anyway, it seems the current cocktail of medication the vet has given her is working. We've been taking her to the vet daily as well, and that really got me really strained. The two dogs go to two different vets so it was very stressful to go from one vet to the other. She is due to a revisit tomorrow so I'll be taking her there. I need to tell the vet she is getting really ravenous lately and her tummy seems to be growing really big and bloated, the scary thing is on one side it's angled. Geez... I hope it's nothing.
The Work
It's been stressful. Mr. new Boss is being Bossy but I heard something was going on with him at home too, so I'll give him a discount. He is, maybe without meaning to, opening many cans of worms, of different species. He seems pretty calm about it, and says things like "don't worry, you are just the translator, if anything goes wrong, I'm the one who's gonna get fired," hm... well... considering you are my boss, I wouldn't want you to be fired, would I?
The Hobbies
Nothing done lately. My time has been split specifically between work, dogs, and just breathing. My friends are asking me if I want to go on holidays, which I'd love to... they're asking me if I want to go to Thailand and another group is asking me if I want to go to Africa... both in June... hm.... decisions, decisions......
I tried to test the waters on holidaying by applying for one day holiday in April. He signed it. Oh the joy of taking a day off! I will be going to Hong Kong.
I also need to get my wardrobe cleaned up. The humidity is back with a vengeance and my room whiffs of mold. hm.... I read somewhere you should only keep 40 hangers. That will be a challenge. We'll see. heehee.
Last night, I stayed up late. Coraline was showing, I was surprised. Coraline? On local TV? wow. So I stayed up till 2:00am watching it. Now I have a million questions. Maybe I should go read the book. When did it all start? How did it all start? Why one key? Interesting...
Time for lunch, and I gotta go. Ciao!
