This whole thing with their attempting to be a social platform (erm... assimilating more to Facebook) is putting me off.

I've been good. Boss had an exciting end-of-January, that led to me having an exciting end-of-January, and well, it's February already.

I've been trying to build up my Portuguese. Classes are still a bother, but I am trying to stir up some kind of enthusiasm. The last semester I got a spiffy 19 out of 20 for the term, but that's really all b*llsh*t, in my humble opinion.

My friends and I are finalizing our plans to Spain in March. Then with my cousin, we are figuring out if it will be possible to hop over to Bangkok for Golden week weekend (May 1st). Gonna be interesting...

How has everyone been? I'm going to go through the F-list and be the friend that I should be!

I'm trying to make it to Europe this summer (countries TBA) and also to Japan in the fall. If money only grew on trees. ;D

I still follow a handful of people here, and post regularly. I'd probably keep posting even if there was no one around just because it's stress relief. But all of my community activity has moved over to Dreamwidth.

Acho que LJ é menos interessante agora só porque muitas pessoas já foram embora para usar Tumblr. Mas na verdade não entendo isso...o sistema de comentários, etc, é muito melhor no LJ, mas claro, uma comunidade no vai ser tão interestante se quase não houver pessoas. :\

I think livejournal is still quite interesting. I've met a lot of new interesting people here!
They are still trying to compete with other sites but eventually they will realize that users stay because LJ feels like home already and they need to stop trying to change it.

Spain sounds like a blast! I've always wanted to go myself.

the people at livejournal are interesting, it's just the whole livejournal itself as a platform that's gnawing on me. I guess they are trying to make themselves more like facebook, then the app dies and doesn't work, and blah blah....

They really should stop trying to fix something that isn't broken.

Ah, planning stage almost done... now I'm just waiting for my flight date.... in 6 weeks!

ainda gosto do LJ porque as pessoas que conheço cá são todos muito simpáticos.
é só o propio website que estar a chatear-me. não gosto do layout, não gosto do app (o APP!!!!) e está mais difícil para navigar......

não sei porque, nunca gostei do Tumblr. Já tive uma conta lá, mas não me pegou...

I have to agree about the stress relief... (though I hardly seem to be here to do that... I have no stress???)

I used to treat LJ as an all rant place, coz not many people I know in real life are here. Maybe it's age, all I ever rant about is work-related nowadays... and since I have a strict no-boss-friending on Facebook policy, I seem to have a pretty free reign of ranting over in Facebook in Chinese...

I have to diverse my hobbies more. I am back!

ah... Japan... I still want to go to Japan [again]

I haven't even left for Spain yet, and my friends and I are already planning our trip next year. Currently we are arguing between Germany (I want to see the Bremen musicians totem thingy in Bremen), and Finland (friend wants to see the Northern Lights)

If money grew on trees... then I don't have to save up money, save up paid time off, etc........
