Mid-week update
Wednesday, 25 November 2015 19:36Geez, I can confirm one thing. Having a day off does not necessarily mean all the time in the world and rest.
No. On work days, at least you can be guaranteed your work hours, and can have some slack cut off you.
On day offs, everyone thinks you are free and have loads of time so everyone comes to you and you end up not being able to do anything at all. Not that I didn't do anything...
I took the dog to the vet to get her teeth scaling. Then I thought, "last year, the vet called me in an hour to pick her up, so, I'd better stay in the area this time".
I plopped myself into a cafe and had a pancake breakfast.

I hadn't had a pancake breakfast for a long time! I also brought my MacBook Air along and worked some more on my upcoming trip to London. Sorted out a few bills, sent the balance to my friend (she owes me a hefty sum now), and decided to just go with it and get the London Visitor Oyster Card. Look at the card face, isn't it so London-y and so pretty?

I felt so stoked yesterday as... it felt really good, working from a cafe. I might try to make that a habit.
Eventually, the vet called, so I said I'd go pick up the dog, but he said noooooo still need some more observation time and that I should pick her up at 1pm. It was 11.30am. It was too much time to spend in the area, and too little time to make the trip back home and then back to the vet. Mom convinced me to get home first so we can go to the bank, as I needed to open a new Hong Kong dollars account for some interest payment thing my Mom set up for me before. And then it was back to the vet's to pick up the dog.
Boy, did she have an angry face saying she wasn't impressed. We took her home, but the vet adviced not to let her eat until 4pm, so, Mom and I headed out for lunch.

We ended up in this place called the Cat Cave Cafe, they had some 6 or 9 cats in store. They ran around freely. They would come steal your food if you're not careful. The food wasn't spectacular, but I really don't think the selling point there was the food.
After lunch, Mom went to her friend and I was left alone again, so I walked to downtown to another bank to get something done. Didn't have to wait for long, did my thing, went to the post office, posted this thing I did at the bank, then remembered, "oh yeah, there's a Lego exhibition thingie around here". So, I went in.

Honestly, if you ask me, I wasn't totally impressed. They used a lot of custom parts for that. Isn't Lego supposed to be stuff built using standard generic building blocks? Using custom pieces... just makes it not Lego anymore.
And after all that, I went home, fed the dog, walked the dogs, had school (guh).... and back home at 11pm.
Jeez.... I was tired.
Today, back at work... tiring... and the boss unreleting....

Date: 2015-11-27 13:07 (UTC)And yeah, I kind of agree with you about Legos...it's just not as fun if they use too many special pieces as a crutch to build things...that's cool that they had an exhibition though c:

Date: 2015-11-30 15:27 (UTC)There's a second Lego exhibit thing over at the Science Museum, but it's a little far off and difficult to reach by public transport. I might try to make my way there in the next week to take a peek as well :D
