Thanks for the breather

I needed this breather.

Boss suddenly took the day off to Hong Kong today. I needed that. I needed time away from him. GOOOOOOOD.

Then I only have to deal with him for one more afternoon tomorrow, and into the night as well... and then, yay. He will be on holiday for the next week.

We're down to 9degrees C today, but yet, I still don't feel cold. I wonder why I'm feeling so warm this year. I'm beginning to have a sore throat, which means I'm on the way to getting sick, yes, but I just don't feel the cold this year. Weird. Let's hope I keep this streak up then maybe I don't have to bundle up too much in London.

Got some last pieces of Christmas shopping that I gotta do in the next few days. I still haven't decided on the what though. I hope my family - the ones that are going to buy me something, have seen my Facebook post, LOL. I wrote a wishlist of affordable stuff that I would really appreciate having this year. (Rather than receiving a bunch of... less useful crap but you have to be polite and say it's good). I need super warm undershirts and leggings/tights, a portable charger and a sturdy carry bag - all for my trip to London. I also put in an Apple Magic Mouse because mine died due to the battery melting (and I was using it everyday, so why, oh why, did the battery have to melt?) We'll see what I'll get.

My Portuguese test scores came out. So for presentation and oral I got a whopping 19 out of 20. But the written test I got a meagre 14.5 out of 20... that's like 70-ish. Need to work on it. But too lazy...

Yay, time to get off work.

Oh, no, not THE cold - it starts with a nasty sore throat that lasts for a week before you get the cough part of it. Not now, not now!

I was just the opposite with my French test score, the written was much higher than the speaking. There's no one around here to speak French with and that's my main problem. I should have like to have taken it after we returned from Tahiti as I'd been speaking (and listening to) it there every day.

Hurrah for your boss being gone. Mine is sick, so he's only in the afternoons for the two hours I work then. Same with the Business Manager. Most days, it's just me and the Box Office Manager and that's more than fine with me.

I'm like that with French, but in reverse. My verbal skills need more practice, and I always do better conversing with other students than with the prof directly.

i went out drinking with the boss and colleagues last night (christmas gathering), had a mulled wine, had more red wine, and today my sore throat is totally gone.... *wonders*

I doubt, though 2 of my colleagues who saw the post have happily given me their portable chargers (they had too many, freebies they got at work), so now I have 2 chargers :-)

It would be nice to get out of the USA, but it costs a lot. I'm not going to say never though.
