Portuguese Novellas

I never was much of a TV series chaser or what. I admit there was a stint with Criminal Minds, Bones, and such. But I was never like "must must watch all of it!" Mostly I started watching something and then the interest tapered off. I did manage to actually finish the shorter Sherlock (3 episodes each season only) so it was able to hold my interest, though I have to say, by the end of it Eurus sort of lost me *shrugs*

And then, I dislike Portuguese or Brazilian novellas. They are so long, so long-winded, run around in circles, takes forever to resolve one simple matter, goes back to talk about the same thing again 10 episodes later.... that, and my command of the Portuguese language isn't good enough to understand all those fast paced talking.

LOL I say all that, but this is the second time a Portuguese novella has caught my attention, but mainly the tail end of it.

Well, every weeknight, during dinner Mom would always have the TV on to the local Portuguese channel. Dinner time is just when the novellas are on. And it really takes like a year to finish one novella (it's like, over 200 episodes, and only shown during weeknights).

Right now, there's a novella going on called Ouro Verde (Green Gold????). It was such, such, suuuuuuuch a long-winded show.

Oh, but now, as it's nearing the end, I sort of got interested of how it all ends. Despite, I haven't paid attention to the beginning.

You know what, just in the final 20 episodes (which I'm currently trying to go through on my own, I found an online stream to watch it and not wait for the daily dinners). I've sort of caught up with the past 200 episodes in this short time LOL!! There was so much flashbacks, talking about the past, and retellings that I know what happened all along.

Guess I shouldn't say I dislike Portuguese novellas hahahahaha! I am avidly watching the rest of the show LOL
