elusivekHello hello! It's Monday so it's work day, butI think I managed to get enough interesting things going on!
It's 6.30am and every morning I wonder, why can such a small dog take up most of the bed?
I'm trying a new routine where I do some morning stretches and exercises in the morning... I'm on my fourth day and I'm trying to keep it going... while the dog snoozes on.
After the usual morning ablutions, I prepare to go out for the day: regular skincare stuff, SPF, eyeliner and mascara.
I check out some of my plants. I'm trying to propagate an African violet from a leaf and looks like something is sprouting! I also tried to grow some Japanese pine from the seeds, and out of 5 seeds, 4 have sprouted.
Just before taking the dogs out for their morning time, it's the sad, sad, time to switch off the AC. It was somewhere like 35C today and it's brutal! Menina also needs a bit more time to wake up so I try to get her at least awake before I carry her. I'm worried she might get a heart attack if I just carry her out of the blue!
On the car ride to the dog park, I check out the elections result. it was voting day yesterday. Lowest voters turnout in 20 or so years, only around 42% of the voting population turned up. I'm not going to comment about the election results as... I might get into trouble LOL.
Doggies go on their walk, or, like Frankie, creepy stalks other dogs from his side of the fence.
Back home I prepare my bags. As it's Monday, I need to switch from my weekend bag to my work bag. I'm usually a HUGE bag kind of girl, but I decided to bring out this beautiful vintage that I bought in Spain a couple years back. Mom says I look like an old hag but I think it's classy. Also, since I usually have a lot of crap to take with me, by using such a small bag... I need a second bag to get all my stuff together. But at least, I now can have a clear idea of what I consider a must, and what I consider frills.
Breakfast. Finally I found a shake that actually tastes good in the chocolate flavor. I tried another chocolate 2 weeks ago and it was purely YUCK. This one is so much better!
Before I get to work, Frankie decides to go steal someone's cleaning cloth from somewhere.
I recently got a new pair of earphones (Nothing earphones) and I kind of like them better than the usual Apple EarPods. But I'll continue to try them in different scenarios. And with that I walk to work.
I usually walk the lakeside route to work but it was just too hot and too sunny today so I decided to walk through the side streets and alleys instead... only had a last bit of 100 meters or so in the sun.
We are still required to mask up and generate this health code almost everywhere we go to.
And ah! I arrive my AC filled office. Time to get some work done! But first, a cup of tea.
I can't show you much of what I do at work, but I spent the morning filing away my scan folder because I'm too busy to actually sort them out as I work. I know it's a terrible way to work, but I can't help it when my Boss is not allowed to hire another assistant. So I make do and do all the important stuff first, and when I have the time, I do the filing.
I go to the coffee shop to get some lunch, but there was some staff changing the smoke detectors in the elevator hall. If I went ahead and insisted on going on the elevator, the staff would have to climb down and take away the ladder. So save everyone the trouble, I took the stairs. Read and finally finished a book over lunch! Tomorrow I can start another book!
After lunch I went to my other office which is very lonely (because no one is around) and slightly spooky (because no one is around) and I work on more stuff. I have to go to this other office because this computer has the required program to do the purchasing or procurement approvals. There was a bunch of stuff I had to go through.
In order to distract myself from any possible spooky noises, like the shredder suddenly running (I've switched it off today), or the supposed automatic sensing faucet in the washroom suddenly turning on and have water running, I stuff my ears and put a podcast on as I do all those approvals.
After work I go straight home. Not time for the AC yet so I switch on the fan, but it wasn't very cool. Ah, it has collected dust and I should clean it off. After cleaning and the fan was working again.
I had planned to go running (since I got home on time this time) but Dad was all "but your Mom will be home soon!" So, no running. And so, more workout routines at home.
After the workout, as we are still waiting for Mom to come home, I continue to prepare my 2022 planner while I stalk the Facebook group for this planner brand (Hobonichi for those curious). Look at such a pretty yellow for my next year planner! I also got a plastic cover of a Polish (maybe?) Doggie story, Dasenka.
Mom finally arrives, and dinner is served! Beef stew with spätzli, delicious!
Frankie and Nutmeg roll around after the human dinner. We get the dogs ready and take them out for their night walk.
All done, back home, dogs get their dinner, and finally I wash up and write on my 5-year journal. I noticed I forgot to write yesterday, so I had to do a double entry today.
I seem to have managed my time pretty well today, so there was time for my German course and also one video from my Coursera course. And from this chapter I finally understood why in certain fantasy/magic books it's so important to NOT let your enemy know your true name. Apparently it has its roots to some Arabic magic theory. It's fascinating.
