These are the [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive questions:

1. Are you looking forward to Autumn (or Spring, if you are in the other hemisphere)?
Yes, I'm looking forward to Autumn, though technically, we are in Autumn already. On coming Tuesday (21 September), it is the Moon Festival, or as the name says, the Mid-Autumn Festival. Today the wind told me they've somewhat changed to an autumn wind already (it's slightly dry-ish and cool-ish) but it's still swelteringly hot when in the sun.

2. What is one thing that marks this season for you more than anything else?
I usually go to Japan this season because that's all the beautiful falling leaves. There are some falling leaves here too but nothing turns red like the Japanese maple, nor full on yellow like the gingko trees.

3. If the months are indicative of your age, with January being your birth and December being the
end of the line), what month are you in?

That took a little effort to understand, but if I understood the question well, then I suppose, I'm around in mid-May. I don't intend to live too long (not that I'm going to cut myself short), but in my head, I would work until retirement age, that is 60 or so, and if my health allows, I will continue working until 65. Then. I will trully retire, and enjoy the rest of my life... until 70. I think 70 would be a good age to die.

4. Do you welcome the cooler/warmer days or mourn their loss?
As all human beings are, in the cold freezing winter, you look forward to the summer, and in the hot blazing summer, you look forward to winter. I suffer the same human fault. I am waiting for winter!

5. What is absolutely one thing you have to do in the Autumn/Spring?
*Sniff*. Autumn is usually my travel month. And obviously, Covid and all, I'm not traveling...

Hubby said the moon was beautiful last night. Just a bit less than whole. We have the same "Moon Festival" although we don't call it a festival - it's just about enjoying the moon and eating rice cakes LOL What do you do at the festiival?

Boo you can't come :( Are there any special foods in autumn?

We would also be enjoying the moon and eat “moon cakes” and walk around with lanterns. It’s usually a public holiday the day after (Wednesday, this year), supposedly because people will look up and enjoy the moon till late.

(Though, I have no idea why this holiday is still mainstream these days. Anything for a holiday, I suppose)

Autumn foods, not really. Chestnuts I suppose?

Cool<3 Do you wear special clothing when you go out with your lanterns? And what do the moon cakes look like? The most typical here are something like this:

I very much would prefer cold any time! I welcome it anytime!
I can always put on more clothes. XD

I have noticed quite a few people at work who do what you describe in #4.
